If San Francisco is Supposedly a Liberal area, How come when I look at the radio ratings for San Francisco Bay Area it shows that NPR affiliate KQED-FM and KCBS attracts Moderates and Independents and they are on the top 5 in the ratings . Also I looked at KNEW 960AM they have liberal Hosts but they have a 1.x in the books.
To call an NPR affiliate liberal is almost laughable. At least to real liberals. Stuffy and stodgy is more like it.
I looked SFO TV ratings and I see that the Fox Affiliate KTVU is Objective in their newscasts and is head to head with KGO ABC7 and KPIX CBS5. Also KQED-TV is the most watched PBS affiliate in California. I understand the DNC has to negotiate with Moderates and Liberals for Local, State and National elections. But As far as I know some districts in the bay area attract more liberals than others like Berkeley and Haight. I like to know if MSNBC is marketed as a Left Wing Network what cities watch MSNBC the Most and Left Wing Radio the Most.
There is virtually no correlation between a Fox affiliate and the Fox News Channel. Two different animals.
The reason KQED is the most watched PBS station in California is because KCET in Los Angeles dropped it's PBS affiliation in 2011.
No self-respecting news organization ever markets itself as Left or Right wing to audiences.
People, no matter their political persuasion, just want news, good or bad, presented to them in an informative, non-intrusive way. They'll use their own judgements from there.
A local newsman here in LA once said that if people on all sides are complaining about the news media, then the news media must be doing something right.
