politics & God

seems to me sports talk hosts should refrain from making comments
about politics or religion. Some of them sound quite ignorant when they
comment on those subjects. They should stick to phony, macho jock talk.

The only time I mixed "politics & sports" doing sports-talk was when I laughed, on-air, about Keith Olbermann being fired by MSNBC.

I once heard Scott Ferrell referred to the gay marriage issue a year or so ago on his show, I don't remember how it came up. He said something like why can't people just live and let live, live a life of tolerance, etc. It wasn't a direct referral to religion or politics, and the way he mentioned it seemed genuine, and not like he was trying to push anything on anybody.

Then he went on to more sports issues. It didn't seem out of place at the time.

Don't they already sound ignorant enough? (PS: I live in a market where there are at least two shows that mix topics as you describe every day.)
