Poll On Date For Next Lunch At Cap's?

Wayne informs me that Ch. 26 news would be interested in doing a piece at the next lunch, with the video to later be archived on demand on their site and on Nola.com.

Let's see if we can tentatively decide upon a date around Labor Day...here are the choices at the moment:

1.) Saturday, August 16, the day after Blair's birthday and also our anniversary weekend for our first gathering last year,

2.) Saturday, September 6, the Saturday after Labor Day, or

3.) Saturday, September 13.

I'm personally ok with any of those dates.

At this early time we *already* have Wayne, Bob Walker, Don Banks, Don Delahoussaye, Kimtoad Stevens, Bob Robin, Walter Moorehead and Rene Nadeau, along with your congenial host, radio legend Captain Humble.

Let's shoot for Skinny and CC so we can tear the roof off the mutha sucka'.

Wayne, will you please make the final call somewhere down the line on the date when the votes come in?

Yep, lookin' like 8/16 already! No sense dancing around the LSU schedule in September or October.
 
OK, Let's Do 8/16

Looks like we're gonna do the anniversary weekend of our first radio reunion lunch. Saturday, 8/16/08, 12-3 at Cap's (Happy Birthday, Blair). We've grown from 7 attendees or so for the first one last year to 25-30 so far and growing.

Bo Walker, Jeeves 2 and Mrs. Fury have opted in. Beth promises to wear her radio groupie t-shirt again.

So far:
Weerd Wayne, Bob Walker, Don Banks, Don Delahoussaye, Kimtoad Stevens, Bob Robin, Walter Moorehead, Rene Nadeau, Bo Walker, Jeeves 2, Mrs. Fury, along with your congenial host, radio legend Captain Humble.

Spread the word, guys and gals, so everyone can block out that weekend. Maybe even Skinny and CC.

Oops! Missed this when it first went up.
Almost any of those dates works for me -- they all look alike when you're living "the 168-hour weekend."
My only conflict would be 8/15. That's the weekend I go back for a 50-year reminder of why most of my Stuttgart HS
classmates always made fun of me :'(, and took ball bats to their radios. ;D

Thunderstorm awakened, I checked the traps, and realized I'd missed all this discussion, then threw in my thoughts.
After that, I opened my e-mail. Top one: "Deer klassmaytz, weer sawree to have to annowntz weer changing the dayt for our 50-yeer re-onion." Yep, one week earlier, Aug 8, 9, 10.
Realize this is getting harder and harder to pin down. So if this is the only one that works for everyone else, go for it; and I'll catch ya on the next one.
And if you happen to see Murphy...punch the b*****d's lights out, OK?

I give up on determining a date. Let's let this thing sleep till sometime in the Fall or later.
 
You can never please everyone on this sort of thing. Whatever date works for the majority is fine with me. I'll still be out of town on 8/16.

Seriously though I was just in a quandry over a possible date that might work for all and thought it might be clearer for all a bit closer instead of 6 months out. But, if you'd like August rather than later, we still have 8/2/08 available...which just happens to be my birthday! :)

But really, I'm ok with any date.
 
Oops, I'm out for 8/2. That's my Gatlinburg/Smokys/Cherokee weekend every year.

But any other date that's agreed upon, count me in. Or if it's on 8/2, I'll salute you all from atop Clingman's Dome at noon.
 
How about July 26th? It's just a few days before my birthday. I could jump out of a cake or something.

Ok I'm kidding about the cake. Whenever y'all can go I'll do my best to be there. I had a good time meeting everyone and I want to try a poboy next time.
