Poor Bob Grant thrown under the bus!

Decades and decades of radio service and on a historic election night they throw the old man under the bus. Like a poster on NYRB said makes no sense. Every single person was on the air yesterday during election day but at the big moment in hand instead of having Bob Grant for the big moments when results were being called for some reason the airwaves all-night from 8pm to 1am were turned over not to the old man, but instead he was bounced in favor of Mark Simone, a talented guy for sure, but one without the decades of experience of Grant. Talk about WABC disrespecting its senior statesman of radio.

With all due respect to Bob Grant, WABC made the right decision to use Mark Simone. Mark has endlessly demonstrated his expertise in politics, interviewing, being on the "inside" and offering commentary and analysis.

In fact, Bob Grant was on the air last night with Mark and he was given as much air time as he wished.

He may be a senior, but I don't think he's a statesman. His show is just a bunch of crotchety old men talking conspiracies about how Obama is a terrorist socialist Kenyan-Indonesian muslim. I'm too young to know what his show used to be like, though.

I like Bob Grant and he should have been on ahead of Mark Simone. I could understand if Lola Falana was running for President then maybe Mark should have done the show. Otherwise, no.
