Poor Dan Spindle

Why has 10 lately been doing several "live" reports a week from the roof of their station complex? And Dan Spindle, of course, does it every time. Again tonight. Either you see a large glass building, a hotel with a neon sign, or just some bland building background.

For the same reason that live shots are done from the airport even when the story does not relate to the airport itself.

Or stories about an arrest are staged in front of the hoosegow (showing nothing but closed doors).

Even when the stories are about the airport, it will usually be about US Airways or Southwest in Terminal 4, yet the airport requires that they do the live shots from the westmost portion of sidewalk outside Terminal 2. It's especially funny when they're talking about the holiday "crowds" at the airport and there's absolutely nobody in the shot at Terminal 2. :D

As for Dan on the roof, perhaps Dan likes the hot summer evenings!

I do feel bad for these reporters having to stand out in the heat or pouring rain(with lightning) when they have to do a live shot.I like dan spindle he is does a pretty good job.
