Rest in peace Pope Francis, gone but not forgotten, Being the head of the Catholic Church for 12 years since 13 March 2013 ( 7th grade in junior high school; I was 13 years old at the time then 6 days after my 13th birthday on March 7); he's reunited with his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI (who died on NYE 2022) Man time flies.

My condolences sent to the Catholic Communities and everyone around the world including world leaders.

Theres some speculation he never fully recovered from that and they knew his time was near and brought him home to live out the last days. I mean, he was working right up till the night he died

Home was Argentina. He had stopped traveling, and remained in the Vatican. Among his last visits was V.P. Vance.

also this is sad the pope died just a day removed from Easter Sunday and making what ended up his last appearance to the public 24 hours earlier and what's weird is he met up with Vice President JD Vance and then died 24 hours later.

anyway, my thoughts and prayers goes out to those of the catholic faith.

also this would be the 3rd Pope death of my lifetime and 2nd Pope to die while not being retired from being Pope. also this is the 3rd time in my lifetime i get to see a change from one pope to the next, i was 19 when John Paul II died in April 2005.

also here's a strange fact about this, both John Paul II and Francis died in the month of April, over 20 years apart, and both deaths occurred on WWE WrestleMania weekend in the US as John Paul II died on April 2, a day before WrestleMania 21 on April 3 and Francis died April 21 (well April 20 at 10:25 PM PDT & MST/11:25 PM MDT on the west coast), just hours after WrestleMania 41 night 2 wrapped up. so yeah. popes dying on WrestleMania weekend is strange in itself, also, both WrestleManias saw John Cena win the WWE Championship too.

I read somewhere h wanted to make it to one last Easter.

Benedict was the first to retire in hundreds of years. I was hoping Francis would do the same.

The Gocomics web site has a "comic" strip about the pope called Francis. I looked and it was completely serious. The last one had him walking away so I guess the cartoonist was prepared. Normally it takes weeks to submit a topical cartoon.

And to return this to broadcasting, I heard the funeral will be very early on Saturday. Who will broadcast?
