Pope's Visit Coverage

Channel 3 is showing The Pope's visit on Channel 3.3 and on WFSB.Com rather than pre-empting The Scot & Kara Show.

Channel 8, however cut off Rachael Ray and went to ABC's Coverage of The Pope's Visit. Why couldn't they move coverage of the Pope's Visit to Channel 8.2 or Channel 59.2 (or even 59.1 since they show infomercials from 930AM-11AM) like WFSB did?
