POPULAR - BUT NOT VERY TALENTED

OK...how about a list of classic tv people who gained fame inspite of an apparent lack of talent (in your humble opinion). These are the people that you would see on tv, scratch your head and say to yourself "why the heck are they on tv?"

My entries - John Davidson - Talk Show / Game Show Host
Jm J. Bullock - Too Close For Comfort
Jaleel White - Family Matters

Anyone else?

Pamela Anderson. I need not elaborate on what made her successful.

William Shatner. "Ham" personified. For that matter, add Burt Ward
(Robin on "Batman").

Bob Saget and John Stamos from Full House...no questions there.

Same goes for Rosie O'Donnell and Janeane Garofalo.

When I think of ham and Batman, I tend to think more of Adam West (who played the title role), who sometimes out-hams Shatner.

Can't say I disagree about Adam West, Bob Saget, and John Stamos.
Add Vanna White (for my reasons see Pamela Anderson).

Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashlee. I will add Jessica's ex Nick Lachey and their debacle of a variety show trying to be Sonny and Cher. Her singing makes you want to scream and sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Britney Spears. Her attempts at trying to be Madonna are getting very old too fast. Not to mention she hiccups when she sings.

Clay Aiken. Sure, he can sing, but what is there to him that is popular? All he does is cover songs and looks like The Keebler Elf.

[/quote] Lest we forget that the 1960's BATMAN show was full of more ham than easter dinner at the walton's It was west's job to be a ham. He is funny on Family Guy though

Can't forget Pamela Anderson, who can't act, can't hold down a husband(ask Tommy Lee and Kid Rock). All she does is just window dressing.

And speaking of hams, Tony Danza is just about as big of one as some others, I couldn't stand him in Who's The Boss, he was more tolerable in Taxi than anything else he has done.

I agree that Bob Saget comes off as kind of "white bread" and dull, though as an emcee, I think he's just as talented as dozens of others we could mention. His stand-up comedy acts got him started in the business, and I've heard he is screamingly funny - and considered one of the best in the business by other stand up comics.

About Bob Saget, a few years before Full House, he co-hosted a morning show on CBS with Mariette Hartley called The Morning Show. I haven't watched much of his new game show 1 vs 100 to give an opinion about how he is today compared to what he did on Full House. I am surprised that no one mentioned Dave Courier also from Full House with his stale imitations of Popeye, etc.
