In Chicago, here's what's on the subchannels of CW, MyTV, & Independent stations.

WCIU (Weigel Broadcasting)
26.1 The U - Independent (HD)
26.2 The U Too in widescreen (also independent, but time-shifted programming, & programming exclusive to The U Too), simulcasted from LPTV station WMEU-CD 48.1, which carries the HD version of the channel.
26.3 MeTV (simulcast of WWME-LD 23.1) (Weigel Broadcasting's own network)
26.4 MeToo (same as MeTV, but only for Chicago with programming that is also available on Antenna TV)
26.5 Bounce (Bounce moved to 26.5 on November 1, after Weigel Broadcasting turned over the programming of This TV to Tribune Broadcasting. Was carried on WWME-LD 23.2, & will also remain on WWME-LD 23.2 for now).

WGN-TV (Tribune Broadcasting)
9.1 CW (HD)
9.2 Antenna TV
9.3 This TV (subchannel created after Weigel Broadcasting gave up their 50% stake in This TV, & This TV moved to WGN-TV)

WPWR-TV (Fox Corp.)
50.1 MyTV (HD)
50.2 Movies (a partnership between Fox & Weigel Broadcasting, with Weigel Broadcasting programming the network, but Weigel let the network be affiliated with Fox owned stations first, & only affiliated with Movies themselves in Milwaukee WI & South Bend, IN, since Fox owns no stations in those markets)
50.3 Mundo Fox (simulcasted from WOCK-CD 13.1, which carries the HD version of the network, & on a station that most people can not get the HD version)

I would not overall consider Mundo Fox a popular network among the general English speaking viewers, but it's there.

As for network stations:

WMAQ-TV (NBC)
5.2 Cozi TV in widescreen

WLS-TV (ABC)
debateable, but 7.2 Livewell Network in 720p HD, & SD simulcast on 7.3

Except for MeToo, Chicago seems to be under-fed. Looks like more/better choices should be available in the #2 market.

Interesting that in Atlanta the big station WSB droped Retro TV for Me-TV (laughing all the way to the bank now) and what most consider the #2 sub Antenna TV is on a My Network TV station. Wonder if the network stations are now wishing they had gotten to Antenna first? Bottom line: many stations were too slow to get on the sub-station band wagon and GOT STUCK with inferior product.

Hartford/New Haven:

3.1 WFSB CBS
3.3 Eyewitness News Now
3.4 WFSB Fairfield County an SD feed of WFSB used for Cablevision in Fairfield County with Fairfield County ads. (There are very limited local Fairfield County Ads on this service. So they mostly air PSAs and promos for WFSB).

8.1 WTNH ABC
8.2 Bounce TV

20.1 WCCT CW
20.2 This-TV

30.1 WVIT NBC O&O
30.2 COZI TV

59.1 WCTX My Network TV

61.1 WTIC-TV FOX
61.2 Antenna TV

We don't have ME-TV in Hartford/New Haven OTA, but 2 out of the 3 COX Systems in Connecticut carry ME-TV via WZME Bridgeport (Seymour), Connecticut. They carry ME-TV on a Part-Time basis as ME-TV New York. COMCAST Waterbury also carries WZME. I also think U-VERSE carries the national ME-TV feed in Connecticut.

WCTX or WFSB should pick up ME-TV for their .2 channels. Neither one has a .2 channel. WCTX 59.2 was TheCool TV until Juky 15th. WFSB 3.2 was a simulcast of their Springfield, Mass Channel WSHM-LP 67 known as CBS 3 Springfield. I don't know if LIN-TV owner of WCTX or Merideth owner of WFSB has any existing relationships with ME-TV.

Minneapolis, MN
Independent KSTC 45 (5-2)....co-owned by the ABC in the market KSTP 5
5-3 Metv
5-4 AntennaTV
5-6 ThisTV

WFTC My29 (co-owned with KMSP Fox 9)
29-3 Bounce
29-4 Movies! (as its O&O its a given)

KMBC-METV
KCWE-This TV
KCTV5- None yet
KSMOTV 62.2 Mundofox and at the moment Google TV the only one to have it
KSHB- COZI TV
KMCI- 38.2 Bounce TV Surewestkc next year
FOX4KC- Antenna TV
KPXE and TBN has all of it's Digital Sub Channels but only Google TV has all of TBN's and Life and Qubo. Comcast might have Life. Nobody has ISHOP and 50.5 QVC
KCPT has Create and 2 but not Worldview.

LWN will come back at sometime. Metro Weather has none. So doesn't TWCSP only TWCSP 2 but with Charter might be buying them that could change with name change again to like Charter Sports KC. KTWU Worldview here if Surewest adds KTWU HD.

Seattle

My (KZJO)
22.1 KZJO
22.2 KCPQ SD
22.3 Antenna TV

CW/Fox - no subchannels

IND KONG 16
16.1 KONG HD
16.2 KONG SD

Also adding KFFV K44
44.1 Infomercials (waste of spectrum)
44.2 Azteca America
44.3 AAT TV (Asian programs)
44.4 Untamed Sports TV
44.5 WeatherNation (worth watching sometimes)

KOMO 4 (ABC)

KING 5 (NBC)
5.1 KING HD
5.2 LWN

KIRO 7 (CBS)
7.1 KIRO HD
7.2 RTV

-crainbebo

Los Angeles

CW (KTLA - Tribune)
5.2 Antenna-TV
5.3 THIS-TV

MY (KCOP - Fox O&O duopoly with KTTV)
11.2 KTTV-SD (Fox)
13.2 Bounce
13.3 Movies!

IND (KDOC)
56.3 ME-TV
Sidenote with KDOC: It was originally slated to be a flagship station for THIS-TV's premiere launch but it never materialized. They picked up ME-TV afterwards and might have accidentally fell ass backwards into a better product.

and even though off topic from the thread, here are the O&O network offerings round these parts:

KCBS (CBS O&O)
2.2 KCBS-SD (Future home of CBS+)

KNBC (NBC O&O)
4.2 Cozi-TV (Widescreen SD)

KABC (ABC O&O)
7.2 LWN-HD <-- why do this?
7.3 LWN-SD <-- you have this
Absolutely wastes bandwidth that ultimately degrades KABC's main channel PQ. Dumbest decision the Mouse Network mandates. LWN doesn't deserve HD presentation at all. Knock it off.

Nice. Probably one of if not the only one to have both Me-TV and Antenna TV.

For some reason my first post disappeared, but I'll try it again:

WLMT CW 30 in Memphis carries Me-TV on 30.2, except for 7 to 9 PM when they carry MNTV. THey used to carry RTN until a couple of years ago when they switched to Me-TV.

In Memphis The rest of the major subchannels are on 3 of the big 4 network stations:

WREG CBS 3 has Antenna TV
WMC NBC 5 has This TV and Bounce
WHBQ Fox 13 has Movies!
WATN ABC 24 used to have Live Well, but it was dropped earlier this year after being bought along with WLMT by Nexstar.

Nexstar is keeping up their reputation of not carrying subchannels on WATN, but I think it would be a totally stupid move for them to drop Me-TV from WLMT. Although if that did happen, I'd hope that WREG or WMC would pick it up and it would be available on Charter Cable in my area.

Nashville:

WUXB-TV channel 30 (MY-TV) had The Cool One (whatever it was called), the music video channel on 30.2, but does not anymore. Nothing on 30.2 now.
WNAB-TV channel 58 (CW) has TCN (The Country Network), aka "ZUUS," on 58.2.
WZTV-TV, Fox 17, has never had a subchannel, to the best of my knowledge.

Even our PBS station, WNPT channel 8, has a subchannel.

Umm.....I believe the keyword in the subject line is POPULAR yet everyone has listed ALL of the diginets, popular or not

Is it me or are people not reading the subject ??

Cheers & 73 :)

While I fear there may be some issues with my data, what it suggests is:

For stations carrying CW on the .1 program, the most popular networks on other programs:
Zuus Country - 51 stations
ThisTV - 31 stations
NBC - 20 stations (I'm pretty sure this is a data issue)
The Cool TV - 16 stations (obviously this is old data!)
Antenna TV - 15 stations
My - 14 stations
CW - 10 stations (not as strange as it seems as some stations carry a SD simulcast for cable systems)

For stations carrying My on the .1 program, the most popular networks on other programs:
generic independent - 20 stations
MeTV - 19 stations
The Cool TV - 16 stations (again, obviously obsolete data)
ThisTV - 13 stations
Fox - 12 stations
Antenna TV & My Family TV - tied at 11 stations

7 My affiliates carry Zuus Country and one carries The CW.

I should note that translators are counted in addition to their primary station -- if CW affiliate WNAB carries Zuus on 58.2, and a translator carries WNAB, that counts as *two* Zuus affiliates, not one.

Given that Antenna TV and This TV are now Tribune properties, I'm not sure it's fair to call their presence on Tribune's CW or My Network TV stations an oddity as this thread implies. I'd make a similar argument for Me-TV or Movies! on the few Weigel stations, or Bounce on Raycom's stations.

Not all Tribune own stations have This TV. At least CW's and My Network TV's have ones because some CBS don't.

WREG in Memphis is now owned by Tribune and doesn't have This TV yet, but they have Antenna TV. If they do get This, that will leave an opening at WMC, and I hope that Me-TV could possibly move there, which would put it on Charter Cable in Jackson, TN, since they carry WMC's subchannels.

Tallahassee,Florida/Thomasville, Ga.
WCTV- 6.1 CBS 6.2 MY Network TV/This-TV
WFSU-11.1 PBS 11.2 Florida Captial 11.3 Creative
WTXL-27.1 ABC 27.2 Bounce 27.3 Weather Now
WTWC-40.1 NBC 40.2 Dark (blank) 40.3 Country
WVUP-DT 45.1 CTN
WTLH-49.1 FOX 49.2 CW+ 49.3 MeTV

I dont see if Antenna TV Network coming to Tallahassee or Mundo FOX either (unless they add something on WTWC 40.2 after they dropped The Cool Music TV from Sinclair Broadcast Group. I dont know what Sinclair Broadcasting plans are since they didnt replace The Cool Music TV to something else. It been kind of quiet for a long time.

It's you. The word "popular" appears in quotes, so it is open to any number of interpretations. How are we to know which sub-channels are "popular" unless we know how many markets carry them? If, by "popular," you mean popular with viewers, who knows? I have not seen any data about ratings for such subchannels, so I have no way of knowing.

Since he did not ask about NBC, CBS, and ABC subchannels, I did not list them, so yes, I read the subject line.
