Porky Chedwick returns to the air

Porky will be on the air Fridays, starting this Friday, 11:00 am to noon on WEDO, with hopes of expanding his time slot soon.
You got to give him a lot of credit for getting a new gig at 93 years of age. I'm sure he'll be promoting some of his live appeances (like the Brookline Pub Sundays 6:00-10:00 pm). Amazing.
WEDO streams, so I intend to listen here in Nashville.
 
I remember when I worked for 3WS and we did Pork Stock....3 days of fun and pork, The T-Shirts were pink with the neck and head of a guitar looking like the woodstock logo, with a pig sitting on the guitar.......good times, and great oldies :)
 
Wow!! I can listen to WEDO on my Android and plug it into my car system!! That means I can ride around DFW while getting PORKIFIED!!!
 
I caught about 15 minutes of his show...while I was taking a break from mowing my grass. Sounding good!

"If you need to mow your grass, why not do it with some class?"

"Mow your lawn, till the Bossman says 'I'm gone!'"

The remodeled Brookline Pub is a nice place. Well worth stopping by to see him.

Is he recording the show at home? I think it would be hard for a 93yo to make it up the steps to the WEDO studios.
 
It sounded pretty live to me. But don't underestimate Porky...he's done a lot of walking...especially in his advancing years. He's in superb physical shape.
 
Porky travels from his home in Brookline to the WEDO studios each week to do the show live. His wife Jeannie drives him. She did a spot last week for Porky's Sunday night gig at The Brookline Pub, which Porky calls "the land of giant food", because of their huge portions.
 
Just as Porky says, the Brookline Pub has really big portion sizes. It has been remodeled and
is under new ownership. It is not the former nuisance bar which used to be at that location.
