porn versions of classic TV shows

Back in the 80's I used to work at a video store. Besides offering the usual standard fare of movies we also offered porn films as well.

I remember x-rated versions of..

Dallas ( "Hot Dallas Nights" )
The Flintstones ( "The Flintbones" )
The Facts of Life ( The Fu*k's of Life )
Dynasty ( "Dy-sin-ty" )
I Love Lucy ( "I Love Juicy" )

There of course were many more.

With that said, I am surprised none of the major studios ever went after these folks for making porn versions of their shows ( if they did I never heard of it ). Say Hanna-Barbera for example. I can't see them giving an ok for someone to do a hardcore porn version of The Flintstones. Or do they really have a say at all?

It was probably all for the better that HB didn't sue.

Suing = making the news = everyone (even the kids) knowing about it.

Not suing = the garbage stayed in the "adult room" where it belonged, out of the reach (and minds) of most video store customers.

Moral crusades and infringement lawsuits often seem to achieve the opposite effect.

A few years ago, I was a video store and I saw one called "Da Ladies Man", which was a play-off of the SNL skit with Tim Meadows, which of course, was made into a feature film.

The first porn I ever watched, in about 1984, was called "One Way at a Time," with a single mother and her two gorgeous daughters. Needless to say, Schneider was one lucky man.

never did watched any of these but we sure rented a lot of them.
The Flintbones I think wasn't a cartoon. I do remember from the box that it starred Ron Jeremy as Fred.

I imagine it falls under the category of "parody".
Though, as another poster said, it wasn't worth their time, trouble or publicity to pursue legal action.

Clarification: by rent I meant renting to yourself, not necessarily renting out to customers.

No never did rent any myself. Actually, I never really rented much of any thing while I worked there. Don't know why, just never did.

I worked at the store from 1983 until 1990. By 1987 we stopped renting porn all together. The owner never liked stocking them in the first place but they did bring in money Same with horror films too ( she thought they were worse than porn actually ) but it was far easier for her to drop the porn titles than to do the same with the horror flicks.

I do remember she did stop carrying three horror films though. "I Spit on Your Grave", "Slient Night..Deadly Night" and interesting one film that starred of all people...Larry Storch from the old F-Troop.

The store went out of business by 1992 thanks to Blockbuster Video coming to town.
