Porsche Foxx dropped from V-103 again

Ramona Debraux (former midday jock from HOT 107.9) is already at V103 doing part time. Tangie would also be a good canidate. Im sorry, but V103 has a big ego with all there jocks acting like they are the rich and famous.

It ain't no act....they are rich and famous.
I agree with Shawty's choices - both Ramona and Tangible would be great.....hope one of them gets it.

I heard it was drug or alcohol related but maybe it was budget cuts. Either way, they should have never brought her back in the first place. Though I'm sure she's hungry, Tangie's voice is much too irritating for such a high profile slot. My vote for her replacement goes to Ramona hands down...she's young, talented, beautiful and sellable, all the things Porsche was not. She also has a great track record and no rap sheet! LOL! :D Look no further, Reggie!!! ;D

Zakk Tyler is a available.

How about Jordan Graye and Kate McCarthy? Couldn't one of them take on an extra shift?

I prefer Kate McCarthy. Her delivery is timeless!!!

Budget related. V-103 has had to let people behind the scenes go over the past few months. Porsche was canned right before the holidays like everyone else in radio so they can start the new year off with the new talent.

With the PPM devices you can’t waste one stopset worth of time.

With the economy continuing to go into the tank, stations need to have good talent to market to advertisers when things turn around.

High priced talent is not the best choice while the market is bad. Whoever replaces Foxx will be making considerably less.

V103 has budget cuts? Isn't Frank Ski and Ryan Cameron like two of the highest paid talents in Atlanta. Not to mention Greg Street and Joyce Littel have been on V for years now. Im sure those 4 jocks alone swallow V103's budget.

True, they did drop a good 10 or so of the station's supporting players about a month ago due to budget concerns. Even with them being number one (or maybe number two once PPM is official), they're still pulling in less money just like most other stations. Their personalities are definitely high ticket items as well. I guess when you look at it that way, Porsche was the weakest link out of the expensive talent...given that middays are usually regarded to be the least important daypart before 10pm. They need at least one more part-timer and letting Porsche go probably freed up a good chunk of change. They also have other talent who are capable of holding middays down for less money and less hassle. I guess we'll see if she's the last to go...

The tough time for radio as a whole unfortunately will continue.

There will be many more able and veteran personalities like Porsche to lose their jobs all over the dial, all over the country.
There is nothing to sell as advertisers continue to pull dollars from the medium.

I wish her, along with those to be laid off, the best. Radio will survive but will be stripped down to the chasis and rebuilt when the economy improves.

Word on the street is that Porsche was let go because she failed a drug test. Apparently a term of her coming back on air after her firing was drug tests. Yes CBS has been doing major budget cuts (not just personnel) but I doubt they would cut someone like Porsche before cutting other on-air talent first. She has name recognition. And people to love her. Remember, let your haters be your motivators.

That is why she was let go in the first place in 2004...arrested for drug use.

My question is dealing with the listeners on a fired personality without giving a reason...if there is no press coverage, how do you explain to listeners their favorite personality is gone if an angry mob were to form or the phone lines were to short out from being overloaded (I don't know how popular she is/was). Usually...if a personality is arrested or makes obscene or racist comments (i.e. Imus), the press is involved...and a negative image of that personality seems to form...making letting them go easier.

When Lexie Kaye was fired from the River for poor job performance (being late)...they didn't explain why, and they should not have. Obviously...she was not that popular (In comparison to other DJ's and morning shows), so no one complained or shorted out Cox's phone lines. When Kelly and Alpha were fired to make way for Steve and Vikki at B98.5...it was publicly known why (and Kelly and Alpha stayed on for a few more months were allowed to say goodbye). As a result...while there were a few bitter listeners...there was no widespread outrage.

Then there were the Regular Guys...fired twice from 96 Rock for airing programming in bad taste (teh first firing involved the FCC). The negative press made it easy to cut ties quickly. There was a small backlash...and they were rehired. Of course...they were hired by Rock 100.5. They remained popular all of this time. This sorta mirrors Porsche Foxx...only take out the drugs and put in the sex and ethnic insults.

But you can't go around saying bad things about your former employees. That would prevent them from getting work, and you would have to battle a huge lawsuit.

Given Porsche's past...there probably is not going to be a mob scene forming outside of Colony Square.
