Portibal DAT

I'm looking for a portibal DAT. I'd record on DAT then transfer the media to cassette or CD. I still only trade on cassette for the moment. I actually prefer them. It is easier then working a sound editor, or should I say less time consuming. In NY I do not have a tuner to hook up my computer too, and since the only CD drive is in my computer I can only record on cassette while I'm at home in Philly. Dat can also record longer then MD, from what I've heard.

In LP4 mode MD's can hold up to 5 hours & 20 minutes on a single disc. I just bought a deck MD recorder and a portable player. both are Sony, but I haven't had a chance to hook the deck up yet(gotta get a new reciever), so I haven't found out what the sound quality of recordings in LP4 are like. Aren't the portable DAT recorders kind of pricy?<P ID="signature">______________
