PORTLAND BUMPED DOWN TO MARKET #90

Tomorrow when Arbitron's new market rankings come out, Portland will be listed as market #90 instead of market #89. Arbitron added a new market, which knocks Portland down one peg. Too bad. 89 sounds a leap bigger than 90.
 
I see that Boston was able to keep it's "Number 10" rankings from the big ratings company, I hear now that the TSA goes further north beyond Hillsboro County to remaining parts of Grafton and Coos Counties in NH to the north all the way to the Canadian border, and southwest out to Bermuda.. ;D
 
Al Diamon, citing R-I's own Tom Taylor, suggests that Saga is (unintentionally) behind the market consolidation. If true, though, what does PRG have up its sleeve to make highly-rated WGAN a full-market station? Ed Christian may not be a subscriber, but the time buyers at the agencies certainly are...
