PORTLAND: Jammin 107.5 killed for "Wild"

Another Good Radio station ruined by a Corporation ??? ??? ???

KXJM-FM Jammin 107.5 changed its "JAMMiN' 107.5" logo to "WiLD 107.5" and adopted the slogan "Portland's Party Hits." The changes reflected the station's shift away from what had been a Hip-Hop/R&B-leaning direction to a more broader Rhythmic approach

so basically another mainstream Clone station with the same 30 songs played over and over.

The last of the "Jammin" stations are gone. Too bad Rose City dummped Jammin 2 years ago....then CBS grabbed it...and now Clear Channel Killed it.

These were good Call Letters too..............

Part of the Problem KXJM had was that trying to sell ads on a "urban" stations was difficult in a market which has a low "urban" population.

Also when Clear Channel acquired KXJM CBS had just re-imaged it as "Hits & Hip Hop" to compete against KKRZ (Z100) which CC owns. So it makes sense to re-brand it from a business point of view.

Actually, Clear Channel is hanging on to the KXJM calls. But rebranding the station and direction was a good decision. The "Jammin'" days were long gone after Rose City pulled the plug on 95.5.

clear channel had no plans to keep jammin 1075 has it is in fact they ruin that station with all the voice track djs on there also the station just like the wild in the bay, also i live in portand for 25 yrs radio really is dead there when they got rid of playhouse thats when jammmin died.

It was pretty obvious Jammin' was going to die since they got rid of "The Playhouse" their hit morning show. Plus, Portland isn't really an urban city, so thats probably why didn't work there. I'll stream WiLD 107.5 to see if it sounds great, but I don't think I would though since the DJs are not local... but still, lets see.
