Portland, ME CW affiliate WPXT sells for a mere $75K

That article sure was worded quite awkwardly! How in the hell does a station only sell for $75,000 in 2012? Lastly, why does he classify the market as "Portland-Auburn" when it's actually Portland/Poland Spring? I still remember WPXT-TV being a charter FOX affiliate until the Pegasus debacle of 2001, leaving the market without an over-the-air FOX affiliate for a year and a half, maybe two years?

Maybe because it is the Portland-Auburn DMA? Not sure where you came up with Poland Spring.

I would love to know what they're getting for their $75k.

My bet is it's strictly the license & intellectual property -- and I would bet the buyer is agreeing to assume a bunch of debt.

I assume that nothing would likely change on-air for WPXT-TV and their presentation with this? Since the article was oddly written, I'll ask here: Will this sale affect WPME-TV (MY) channel 35 of Lewiston?
