How well did you receive KXXO? In a post on the Seattle board, they apparently have moved their transmitter to South Mountain, closer to Olympia.
BTW - Thanks for all your posts -- I enjoy hearing about your reception reports. A couple of years ago we swapped posts about receiving WBBM (780AM).

Your data all seem to check out, with the exception of 96.5. Not sure about that one; I'll have to check it out. There have been a few pirates active in the recent past around the area, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it was. That, and I've never heard KZEL on 96.1. (The capture effect, when exerted on my F1HDs, makes certain that I receive nothing on that channel except KXXO....)

[size=8pt]Hey, I was down at Flightcraft on Saturday, scrutinising a couple pair of headphones (David Clarks, naturally) before heading east to Troutdale. Why didn't you tell me you were in town? We coulda' met somewhere for lunch....

I didn't leave until about 11:30, and I didn't know we were heading that way until the last minute. Also, I never went East past about Sandy Blvd and NE 105th.

I heard once KAST-FM moved to 93.1 (now KRYP) from 92.9, that KISM really did come in all the way down there.

It is now confirmed....
 
That was Tropo. Sunday, 92.9 only had KRYP splatter. Speaking of the motel I stayed at, my room was on the ground floor :( But I did climb up to the top floor (4th) and had KXXO with an excellent signal, as well as KNBQ. I went as far S as Lake Oswego, but never caught the 1w KQSO 102.9 out of Newberg.

It might have been on the coast instead of Portland proper......Have to check.....
 
I've received Seattle area stations such as KING, KMPS, KZOK and others in the past on Portland's east side, but never KISM in Bellingham. Good catch.
The 2 meter ham band was open this past weekend too. I received the 145.19 repeater from the Mt. Vernon area quite clear.

Might be fun to have a locals DX'er lunch some time.
 
KA7PAT, if you have free time can you write an FM Bandscan from your house? I'd love to see the differences between you and me.

There is a pirate station on 101.1 in the Tumwater / Olympia area playing oldies.
