POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE???

I live in Upstate SC (between Greenville & Anderson) and regularly listen to 95.7 The Ride out of Charlotte. Usually as I drive east toward Greer to work, the signal gets stronger and better.

But the last couple of days, on the east side of Greenville, I am picking up a signal for some "positive alternative" station. To say I am unhappy would be a nice place to start.

Does anyone know of a new station that has put a repeater signal at 95.7? I've heard "104.1" before on there, but there's not a 104.1 in our area (unless you count SKY 104 out of Georgia, but that barely reaches to Anderson, let alone Greenville).

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not sure, definately not an engineer here...but until your problem gets solved, may I suggest an alternative..103.3 WOLT-FM (Greenville/Sptbg's Oldies station) plays some stuff similar to The Ride. Actually it's licensed to Greer.

I do know there is a LPFM on 104.1 licensed to spartanburg that brings a Christian music feed to that area. I guess they got a second signal west of Greenville or someone is pirating it.

I believe you're probably hearing a 24 watt station @ 95.5 (urban ac/praise.) Not sure of the calls/owner but it's licensed to G'vl. If it wouldn't kill 'ya, try checking out 96-7 The Buzzard. Lot of the great classics you love on the ride.

Yup. I think this is probably the station. It's like WHRZ and when you look it up, it directs to a church web site.

I really, really hope it's a pirating situation. If it's a licensed 2nd signal, I will be giving some SERIOUS consideration to getting satellite radio instead.

Nothing against stations in this area, but this is exactly the type of music I love. Old school classic rock with some great soul like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding and a few others. Where else am I ever gonna hear "Tupelo Honey" followed by "Don't Take Me Alive" and then "Dixie Chicken" a few minutes later....???

I feel like crying.

I hear 'ya Radio Vet. Thanks for listening when you did. You can get your B & T fix @ WFBQ their flagship. They stream. Still think Bob and Tom is a great show but, we weren't seeing the success needed to keep it alive in Greenville. With just one full book since the swap to music, we're already seeing great gains in our target audience. Unfortunately, way bigger than B & T at their height when we were running a tv campaign. Tried to put 'em on our HD2 channel but that didn't work out.

No loss, B&T are old has-beens anyway. I'm kinda suprised 96.7 hasn't brought CC's latest morning team in yet: Lex & Terry. Lord knows the Rise Guys on 93.3 talk enough about them (primarily because TRG steal L&T's bits...) THAT would puts some spark in boring Upstate morning radio!
