Poss.: Dennis Miller to WTTT (BostonRadioWatch)

BostonRadioWatch:
>>Miller time? : Nothing official yet, but with Salem Communications clearing the brand new syndicated talk show from comedian Dennis Miller on a number of its talk stations around the country, it's possible the company may decide to place it on its local conservative talker WTTT AM 1150 in the coming days/weeks.

Oddly enough the show runs 10 am-1 pm rather than 9-noon, I believe; so do they limit Mike Gallagher to
an hour, run Miller, then go to Praeger at 1?

He's not being cleared live in many markets, so it could end up almost anywhere on the schedule. In Philadelphia, he'll be on an 11 hour delay on the Salem talker; in San Francisco, he'll be on a three hour delay plus the station (Clear Channel's conservative talker KNEW) won't be picking up the third hour of the show.

At this point, though, WTTT 1150 couldn't have less to lose - it has never shown up in the 12+ Arbitrons despite approaching four years or so on the air. Hannity and Paul Harvey couldn't do it, but maybe Miller can finally take the station to an appearance... or will the station's track record limit Miller from gaining any listeners?

Just what radio needs another right wingnut. Dennis Miller failed on television; now he wants to fail on radio talk. Is this nut still defending Bushie the idiot in the white house? Did you hear Bushie yesterday at his press conference? He can't even pronounce the word "recognize". Bushie says "RECK KON NIZE". Guess Dennis Miller belongs on that Bible thumber owned station.

Dennis kinda realized he was right-of-center on MOST issues after 9/11, though he is not straight down the line conservative. He says he isn't liberal but has many friends who are and he promises not to be rude to them. Read the rants on his site. Not everyone will agree, and not everyone will think he's funny,
but many people in this country don't agree with (Senator?) Franken or find him funny either.

>>Bible thumber

What is a thumber? I assume you mean thumper

The Left has moved a bit further to the left so people who would have been considered conservative or
moderate Democrat in the past are now considered to be "wingnuts/far-right".
Miller may have failed on CNBC but I think he'll be great on talk radio.

It is true that when you look at the lineups offered by Westwood One, ABC, TalkRadioNetwork,
Premiere, and of course, Salem, liberals are rare. Maybe they are just convinced conservatives get
ratings and ad dollars. Would W1 have offered the likes of Franken, Randi Rhodes, or Noam
"The US Is The Greatest Terrorist" Chomsky their own shows?

For the record, Premiere DOES have at least one liberal talker: Jesse Jackson.

>>Bushie the idiot

So dumb that he won--twice--and his opponents claim elections were "stolen".

By the way I'm hearing Deval Patrick on PSAs about investing in MA and promos for his WTKK appearances.
He sounds, I'm sorry to say, like a nerd.

As for Bush, well, maybe we DO need more "nuk-u-lar" power plants. The mayor of Boston is "not a
fancy talkah" either (see mumblesmenino.us) nor is Sen. Kennedy (fatboy.cc) but both were
re-elected several times.

Agreed on WTTT...they probably still wouldn't show up, or maybe would get minor ratings at best. Weak
signal, all-syndie (just like AAR Boston was). They need a good local host and a better signal.

Suppose they were on 590 and had someone LIKE a Howie Carr for afternoon drive...though Salem
might not be able to afford a big salary...

Please !!!! Salem has more money than God from the poor individuals who contribute to their Bible Thumper Ranters who ask for their money...ie. prayer clothes and the like.

They hoard that money, I guess. Wouldn't spend it on a local/national talker who demanded a big salary.

In Boston, no. They did launch a local morning show on news-talker WIND/Chicago, but that's market #3 and a station that has a decent signal.

Not sure if they are having financial problems, but that was brought up last year with the decision to sell a few of their stations. You can't blame them for selling sports-talk WKNR/Cleveland, but selling CCM WBGB/Jacksonville and news-talk WBOB/Cincinnati appeared to be odd moves.

I think they had Don Feder doing a show for awhile in the mornings (or was that when they briefly had
conservative talk on 890?) but later went to Bill Bennett

You're north of Boston, in their directional null. Their signal really isn't bad beaming southeast from Lexington into Boston itself, the immediate surrounding metro, and the west suburbs within 128. It's listenable on the South Shore too.

However, their night pattern is so directional away from the north that I wasn't getting it clearly last week driving down Route 93 in Woburn and Stoneham, which is only about six miles north of their transmitter. It completely cleared right up suddenly when I approached the Medford Square exits and hit their easterly lobe.

No word yet on where Dennis will air in Boston...I tuned in to WTTT and it's still Mike Gallagher, and their site shows
no sign of him. Some of Dennis' affiliates (the show began about 20 minutes ago, first show) do streamcast and
they'll put him on _later_ as they're running the likes of Laura Ingraham now. (KRLA LA, WIND Chicago, etc.)
The talker that will start in Dennis' hometown of Pittsburgh will debut it when it goes on next Monday.

And despite a listen live link at Westwood One, no luck, but I may try it again---

oops it's on now! http://www.dennismillerradio.com or Westwood One. "Anyone see the irony in putting pork in a funding bill for a war on Islam? Shouldn't we have put an end date on this war when we started it?"

I notice a Station Finder has been added to DennisMillerRadio.com

I typed in Boston and found they listed WTPL-FM 107.7...which is actually just north of Concord NH
and not heard in Boston at all. When you click NH they don't list any station. When you click VT
you see no station listed even though WVMT is carrying him.
