Possibilities for last song on Mike

Ideas?
We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You--Queen
Centerfield--John Fogerty
Sweet Caroline--Neil Diamond
Beautiful Day--U2 (assoc. with Pats)
Backfield in Motion--Mel and Tim
Rock n Roll Part 2--Gary Glitter ("stadium tunes")
Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)--Steam (ditto)

How about "O Fortuna" from "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff, and "Crazy Train" by Ozzy. Both songs that are closely associated with The Patriots.

Can't forget the song that plays at Fenway at the end of every Red Sox victory: The Standells' "Dirty Water."

Then there are some hockey related songs
Hockey Song (At The Good Ol Hockey Game)--Stompin Tom Connors
Right Back Where We Started From--Maxine Nightingale
Zombie Nation--Kernkraft 400 Stadium Mix (heard when B's score a goal)

The Chicago Black Hawks equivalent would be Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis

Other possibilities incl, obviously FM by Steely Dan
The Journey song (Don't Stop Believing, I assume you mean)--played at end of last Sopranos Episode

Back to sports, for you Celtics fans:
Kurtis Blow--Basketball ("just like I'm the king of the microphone, so is Dr J and Moses Malone")

You mean to tell me not one person has mentioned The Dropkick Murphys yet?

They claim that they "play everything"; how about Haydn's "Farewell" Symphony?

Considering their "everything" was kinda narrow, not sure if they would.

Flashback: When WKLB and WCRB switched frequencies, FIRST new song (or last old one?)
WKLB: Life is a Highway, Rascal Flatts
WCRB: Aaron Copeland's Rodeo (aka music used in Beef, It's What's For Dinner ad)

NERW, Dec 06:
>>The swap took place at noon last Friday (Dec. 1), with Aaron Copland's "Rodeo" as the last piece played on WCRB at 102.5, while WKLB finished off its run at 99.5 with the "Star-Spangled Banner." WCRB apparently finished first, with a short interval of dead air on 102.5 while the anthem finished on 99.5 - and as the anthem faded out, the signals were switched, both stations ID'd on their new frequencies, and it was on to the "Hallelujah Chorus" for WCRB on 99.5 and "Life is a Highway" for WKLB on 102.5.

like some of you thought?
What if they put Mike FM on 97.7?
Do you all see that happenning anytime soon, or in the future?
The last song I'd say is "Semi Charmed Life"

I don't think that will happen because they seem to really want WAAF to be a "Boston" station. The 107.3 WAAF signal is terrible in much of Boston proper and the immediate metro cities. It's mainly a suburban, Metro-West and Central MA signal. They need 97.7 to claim that WAAF covers Boston.

I actually remember a few years ago when 97.7 switched from WILD to WKAF, they had this automated countdown, using Sam the default Microsoft voice, and he would say "T minus 14 hours, 35 minutes, 29 seconds and counting ... T minus 14 hours, 35 minutes, 16 seconds and counting... " Do you think they'll be doing something like that?

That was a brilliant flip... that countdown went for over a day, with little phrases dropped in between the countdown... into "For Those About to Rock" by AC/DC... brilliant first song!
