Possible format for 95.7?

Here is some possible proof: Clear channel has already changed formats in two different markets with the similar format in the last month. Check it out. Makes you go Hmmm like a possible future artist C & C Music Factory.

WJJZ Philly changed formats on Aug 8th and KQOL changed formats on Aug 30th. Ironically the former format on KQOL was.... you guessed it OLDIES!

I see they put Whoopi on in Vegas, too. I didn't know that.

So, that's their new thing - blow up a station in each town just (the larger markets, at least) so they can get a clearance for Whoopi.

What about a few years down the line when Whoopi gets bored with radio and quits?

Oh, I'm sure it's strategic, all right. And, I have no doubt rhythmic AC is a viable format choice.

Another part of the strategy appears to be, now that they're paying Whoopi back in NYC or LA or wherever she's based out of, they can go around from town to town and blow out local morning shows. It may be a little premature to say that but ya gotta admit, it kinda looks like that's the way this is going.

And, after this is all said and done, I'm sure the amount they're paying her will be far less than the combined salaries of all the local shows they did away with.

If the ratings are there, and Whoopi's salary is justified then all is right with Clear Channel's world.

If Whoopi doesn't bring in the ratings, then they went around and blew up a bunch of stations that may then need to be possibly blown up yet again.

Seems like a big, needless, eggs-in-one basket gamble to me, especially since WRIT did not appear to be a station in trouble, but what do I know.

Okay, so there is a possibility that Whoopi will take over Kermit and CV's morning show. Exactly, what will I hear on the Whoopi morning show? What kinds of music can I expect to hear? I don't listen to Kermit and CV in the morning so not listening to Whoopi is right in line. My mornings are spent on TMJ and Lenny "The Spaz" Palmer on WLIP.

Well here is some further proof:

Clear Channel is stunting on other stations as well not just WRIT. Check it out:

http://www.huge1073.com and a secondary site is http://www.snap1073.com/main.html

Also http://www.957needsyourhelp.com in Bloomington is stunting....

Something to compare these two: Both Clear Channel stations and both have ads for Whoppi in the mornings.... This is strategic my friend. There may be something to this Rhythmic Hot AC possible format.

And that's what they thought about the rhythmic oldies format that is now gone from all stations practically except for one in Cincinnati, OH which is WMOJ Mojo 94.9. All other rhythmic oldies stations have either changed format or have segued to adult R&B. Bloomington, where? I could not find a 95.7 Clear Channel that seemed to match this web site. It's also spelled "Whoopi" not "Whoppi." The KMGG 95.7 in Denver, CO is not stunting - it's acting normal lol. What are the call letters?

It's a possibility. Obviously you have not ever heard Jeff and Jer on San Diego, CA's KMYI Star 94-1 (and before it was on former KFMB Star 100.7). They were the best and Whoopi is the 2nd best! I love her on the radio! I actually got to talk to her once and only on the 2nd day of her show too! She is heard on CC Rhythmic AC stations like WJJZ Philly's 106-1 in Philadelphia, PA, WLIT 93.9 Lite FM in Chicago, IL, WKTU 103.5 KTU (actually a non-techno dance station) in New York City, NY, and now KOQL 93-1 The Party in Las Vegas, NV. News and oldies radio just does not cut it for me.
