Possible Imus replacements

I would not know where to start with this one. I know there was some talk of the afternoon show on WFAN taking over. What I want to know is did Mancow find a flagship station since being released from his flagship in Chicago? If Mancow would be interested in relocating to New York and working for CBS Radio, this could work. Of course, this is contingent on whether Mancow has a flagship station or not.

I never thought I would type Mancow and the New York market in the same post.

If Imus was allowed to return after his two week suspension, I bet ratings would be huge for MSNBC, WFAN, and all the other stations that carried Imus. If I would an advertiser, I'd be pulling out the extra cash to advertise on his show!

But if Al Sharpton replaced him, initial ratings may be huge for the first day, but then everyone would realize what a hypocrite he is and turn him off! ::)

I don't think Imus can be replaced with someone trying to do an Imus-like show. WFAN needs a big time sports talker for the morning show. CBS Radio should go get Tony Bruno from Sporting News Radio (though it sounds like Tony loves living in Santa Monica).

I could care less about Sharpton getting anymore exposure than what he already has received. Al Sharpton is nothing more than Don King with a perm. Go figure that a person with unusual hair (Sharpton) would get a wedgie over this one. Sorry folks, Sanjaya's uncle won't be replacing Imus on a permanent basis.

Good post Longpets! It's time for old Imus supporters to cut losses and look for new friends. This is the end of an ego...which means that some new powers have room to move... I say it's time to start looking out for some b-lister to rise to the top...You know, like in politics. Also, not a bad idea keeping those co-hosts around. Maybe charles goes to work with mancow and bernie goes to bitburg. HA!

Whoever it is, I just hope they don't throw Neer or any of these other "average" hosts in there. They need to capitalize on the attention that this "who will replace Imus?" thing gets, and actually get some legit talent on board for mornings. I don't necessarily think it needs to be a sports show either. You can have a political/topical/comedic type show on at that time, as long as everyone involved knows that the term "nappy headed ho" is off limits.
