Possible NBC10 Fall Changes

In light of WNBC-TV 4 in New York local Fall changes, NBC10 may do similar programming updates.

NEW YORK - July 26, 2007 - Beginning Monday, September 10th, WNBC's ongoing commitment to excellence in local news takes a significant leap forward, as WNBC HD becomes the only television station in the tri-state area to offer local news at 7PM Monday through Friday. In addition, WNBC HD will begin airing newsbreaks from 11AM to 5PM on the hour. The new 7PM newscast, anchored by Chuck Scarborough, is in direct response to changing viewing patterns that show viewers getting home later. The hourly newsbreaks will be simulcast on WNBC HD, WNBC 4.4 and wnbc.com to provide viewers with up-to-the-minute news on multiple platforms.

WNBC also announced revisions to its Monday - Friday Daytime, Early Fringe and Prime Access program schedule, adding to its lineup the fourth hour of New York's number one network morning news program the "Today" show and a brand new game show -- "Merv Griffin's Crosswords." The "Today" show kicks off the revamped lineup at 10AM, expanding the show from 7 to 11AM.

[EDIT]

A revised Monday - Friday WNBC program lineup follows:

WNBC Daytime, Fringe & Access Program Lineup (M-F)

Shouldn't this be on the Phila. TV board, anyway?
It was, but got moved here. Infact, it was started on the Philly radio board, got moved to the Philly tv board, then here.

Not sure how this ended up in NY, but as for NBC 10, they won't have to worry about Crosswords, as that will be on KYW. I can't remember where I saw it, but someone either speculated or confirmed that the 10 show moves to 11 (oh well, so much for the cute name), with Martha moving to 2. No other changes.

A 7 p.m. newscast would be an interesting experiment, and with four tabloid shows occupying the 7-8 hour already, maybe a nice way to dump one of them and do some counterprogramming.

Since there's no difference between local "news" and tabloid shows no one would notice the difference.

First,

Let me offer my apologies for this being moved to the NY TV board in the first place. It's clear upon much closer reflection that the article refers to WCAU within the changes taking place on WNBC.

The post was focused primarily on WNBC. As we scan tens of thousands of posts per week, the subtle WCAU reference was missed.

Again, I offer my apologies for the game of ping-pong board users have been put though. We did receive some complaints that Philadelphia was the wrong board to place this post. Upon reexamination, that board is fine.

Thanks to all whose correspondence help us clear this up. It will help us avoid this in the future.

Our NBC Station (Channel 17) here in Raleigh/Durham North Carolina has offered a 7:00pm Newscast for about a year now. It is working out very well.

At 6:00pm, they have the main headlines, sports, weather, etc...
At 6:30pm, it's the NBC Nighty News
From 7:00pm - 8:00, there is another full hour of local news, with much more Human Interest Stories.

I think it is a good concept!

Thanks,
Stuart
Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Can someone please post the entire WCAU daytime schedule Monday-Friday as of this date.

You can find that information online.
But I really think the information should be posted here too

1. This isn't the place to list current TV listings.
2. There are several web sites that have TV listings for almost everywhere. All you have to do is go and enter in your zip code or a zip code of somewhere in the market in question. You can look up zip codes on the post office website.

3. Even without 1 & 2, if you feel it should be posted on here, you can do so yourself.
