Possible new format on WRZK?

The more I read geek's post, the more upset I become. We have intelligent conversation on here...maybe the smart comment every once in a while, but everyone (and that includes turd and gasket) are commenting intelligently about radio, and more importantly, the possible new format on K-rock. And then we have geek, who has said nothing intelligent ever since he showed up on the board. I've got some news for you, Sparky. We do know things about the radio world, and we're happy to share them with whoever will listen and post something back in an intelligent, responsible manner. It doesn't matter if you're as experienced as myself, gcc or buck...or relative newcomers like j-street and twsp. So, if you've got something intelligent to say, we'd all love to hear it and post our rebuttals. If all you can talk about is my sex life and gcc not being in radio anymore, then tell it to someone who gives a s**t.

Ah, was I ever too quick to jump to conclusions. I thought WRZK was going completly automated. They brought their jocks back.

Great for those DJs. At least nobody lost their job.

WRZK now sounds basically the same to me - imaging is slightly different - that's it.

I'll stick to my guns though about automation. It sucks!!!

And the average listener really does know when stations are automated.

I hear people commenting about stations being "on computer at night" as they call it.

I hear "I don't listen to WXXX because nobody is at that station."

Comments? Have any of you heard statements like this?

now that's some entertainment right there. i just wanted to see if i could make a post involving sex, politics and religion and i did it. while gcc and crossman continue to pull their heads out of their arrogant little asses, or should i say arrogant LARGE asses, ain't that right, crossman? i do contribute to the group, i brought people out of the woodwork who haven't posted in months. by the way, i've been in radio for over two decades and don't even work in your area, not so smart now are you? continue to read my posts and boil over them, it makes my day. my work here is done.

...I guess working as a custodian for two decades at a station qualifies you as working in radio and, as far as bringing things out of the woodwork, you must also work in pest control. That is no contribution. To contribute, you need to talk about radio, and you have NEVER done that. No one would have ever thought that, by your recent posts, you were a 20-year "veteran" in radio. Why don't you start talking like a 20-year veteran instead of a 20-year old high school dropout. I'm sure that even you might have a valid point about something in radio. If you would make it known, instead of making yourself look so stupid in front of everyone else, you might get some respect on this board. Right now, you're just disgusting everybody. And what's with all the talk about my large, arrogant ass? At least I don't see mine when I look in the mirror.

You didn't offend me, at all. I was trying to make a joke more than anything. I started at HVBC in 1991 as an intern working in promotions, then running "THE GOD SQUAD" on KPT and then on to ballgames...etc, etc, etc until that fateful day...

I can't remember who suggested turning RZK to country format but I KNOW Mr. Widener would never do that since HVB already has a 100,000 watt country station in Marion, VA. It's reach is beyond XBQ - the quality is not there, however.

Kind of surprised that they would go the classic rock route though - they couldn't possibly hope to take the market away from QUT.

But it has also been my experience that TFM is the powerhouse of HVB and their country station has always been referred to as the red-headed step-child of the company.
