How about

Whatever happens in Vegas, gets beamed in from Moapa Valley

Or How About

Whatever happens in Vegas,,,,,, Barely makes it into Vegas

Anyone ever seen the movie with Johnny Dep.... Fear and Loathing in Moapa Valley...lol

Anyway, all funny aside this station sounds dang good,,,, A little heavy on the A Powers though, but plays alot of songs no one else will touch.

I havent been to Vegas in years, and at this time I have no friends or relatives in Vegas to check it out for me. According to radio locator it puts a city grade signal into the far north east suburbs, but no where else. Im sure a car radio can get a usable signal through most the city, the station has 100kw at 2000 feet,,, Good enough for car reception, but I dont think Boomboxes inside homes and busineses will have any luck. At least Energy Arizona has a translator in Phoenix, its only 10 watts but I hear it covers about 20 miles if your not real picky about having a Local CD Quality signal. Ive been to Phoenix and was able to pick up Energy on 101.1 in Scottsdale on a boombox, but you have to null out locals on 101.5 and 100.7. 92.7 comes in good in the south as long as your not in the shadow of one of the mountains, except for the south west valley, you cant get Energy there at all

Anyway, back to KVBE, they are supposed to get a translator sometime in the future. Also, if you are vacationing and staying in the stratasphere or Luxor, you might be able to hear Vibe 94.5 on a boombox.

People used to complain about the old KDL in Dallas having a weak signal, but when I was there I didnt have any significant trouble with a car radio, however, the KDL signal did better on the elevated Interstates than on the little side streets in the metro.

I don't know who the PD is, but like any new station, I am sure the are just looking to increase CUME right now and so are "Turning and burning" the highs. We bought and moved Jammin 95 to 1075 here in Portland and were originally spinning the A's 100+ a week. Once a station has started to establish it self, it may relax the rotations a bit. Check out Pulse's playlist since sign-on. He was burning the heck out of his power's, but has since started relaxing the currents a bit. I would imagine once they establish themselves in the market, you'll see his A's come down to probably 40-60 spins a week.

I haven't been to Vegas since the sign on (I was there in March..missed it) but I would imagine its very similar to KBZR in Phoenix (1996-ish.) Hopefully, it won't be the same result as what happened to Party.

Is this thing accessible on car radios in Vegas proper & the strip? If so at least its coverage is no worse than Energy Arizona.

I guess I'm just lucky - I take the drive from Tucson to Phoenix or Chandler about twice a week, and as I just leave the Tucson area, I'm able to pick up Energy the whole drive up.

Having just been in Vegas from August 11th-16th, I can tell you that unfortunately the signal is horrible, not even a Vegas station. Not even listenable. I stayed at the Southpoint resort about 10 min south of the strip but drove up there to the strip daily. The static is so bad that there are numerous places along the way where that is all you hear...static and no music. It was just as bad at the strip as 10 min south. I did not get to the other parts of Vegas, but it is still probably fairly bad since at the Strip the station was unbearable to listen to. Too bad, because I think Vegas would be an excellent market for dance music.

Thats really quite ashame. I wasnt a fan of this station at first, but the playlist is pretty good these days. The stations city of license (Moapa) isnt nearly big enough to support a dance format, and by looking at radio locator it looks like there are more Cactuses than people inside their 54 DB contour. I hope they get that Repeater put up pretty soon.

I checked out the coverage map on radio-locator and it is nowhere close. A boombox would be useless. Hopefully somehow down the road that changes.

Its too bad that this stations signal is out in the remote desert,,, Probably not many dance fans out there as potential listeners,, and even if there are listeners it wont do them any good with no businesses to sell adverts to. The station is still comercial free with no jocks,,, Hopefully their just waiting on the Booster signal.. I want this station, as well as all dance stations to succeed..

Well I just read this off they're site.

admin "people are also asking.....why is there static ? Good question ....you see this station was originally not even going to be on the air until we completed our new tower (booster) north of the speedway. I completely understand that in some parts of Vegas you cannot hear us or it becomes static 945"

It seems like they are working on the problem.

Thats good to know.. So I guess they will get adverts and jocks when they get the new Repeater-Booster station.. At least it shows that people in Vegas are indeed at least trying to pick up the signal... Any word on how powerful their repeater will be,, I hope its better than Knrj 92.7 translator on south mountain.. Speaken of KNRJ, they are getting a new tower thats gonna be about 30 to 40 miles closer to their target of Phoenix,,, and Beau--The PD says that KNRJ will remain dance for the forseeable future, they have a small, but very loyal listening base and advertisers, so im hoping both stations can become major players inside their target Metro Areas....
