Possible Pirate on 104.5

I heard this station on my way home, playing nothing but music, no ID's no talking no nothing. Weak signal, was at the McDonalds near the Mississippi line and wanted to alert of a possible pirate. (On I10, the town begins with an S)

They played 80s and 90s music, no crossfading, no DJs, weak signal.

Would that town_whose_name_shall_not_be_mentioned end with "lidell" ? :D

Perchance were you receiving KWMZ ? 9KW @ 800' on WTIX's tower down da river in West Pointe a la Hache. 80's and 90's format, designed to complement WTIX's 60's and 70's music.

Rob's not from the area. He probably has no idea what town he was in or what he was hearing on the radio.

Tropo's been sending signals all over the place. Probably just caught 104.5 from Hattiesburg.

OK, here's the name of the town.. Slidell, LA. Amazingly, Soft Rock 94.1 was starting to come in. These Pensacola stations put out a crap load of power.

I heard a mix of FL/LA/MS stations while I did a quick bandscan (something I love to do) and an OLDIES station on 102.3!! That's something we really need down here. So, it's not a pirate? They didn't do any ID's at the top of the hour.

They do play PSA's and a ad every now and then but Mike has not done any self promoting IE: TV advertising Billboards ETC. I wonder if many people know it is on the air? ???

The legal id is played around 10 min before the hour as KWMZ- Empire. Sweepers are The hits of the 80's WMZ New Orleans Z-104.5 with jingles.
