Possible sleazy commercial on KISS 108.

Is KISS that in need of money ?
If anyone hasn't heard the ad, it is one of those :
Talks about kids on Disney shows.
A world famous agent is in town this weekend
Be one of the first 200 callers

No mention of money
I heard it on both KISS & MIX last weekend.
Anyone have more info ?

I was in NYC on Wednesday, and I heard that same commercial on two different stations. I want to say CBS-FM and 106.7 Lite FM, but I am not too sure. It mentioned if your kid likes Disney and/or is a fan of movies like the Transformers to call a number. They said it was the 1st 250 callers I think.

Stations do not refuse to run certain spot content today they way they used to do. Just give them the money and they'll run your ad for almost anything. If it was a corporate buy it's even harder to refuse to run the spot or bury it. Sigh. Remember the ad for some preparation that had a list of rude side effects they mentioned, like mucus discharge and such?

Get off your high horse. The economy is NOT they way it used to be. There aren't a whole lot of industries doing business the same way they did years ago.

What high horse. He's just stating a fact.

LOL, that reminds me of Lay's WOW potato chips (I think they are called light now). Earlier this decade, they had to use a disclaimer that it could cause "diarrhea or anal leakage".

The "sigh" not "stating a fact." Business is business, regardless of, "sigh", the way it used to be.

OK...He's stating a fact that you don't like or agree with.

But maybe you can come down from your high horse and instruct everyone here.

No one else seem to have a problem with what he stated but you.

Mr. Mic, Is Joe's horse high? IS it high on alcohol or drugs? ;D
What's wrong with his statement? Station standards are lower today and they are trying to get every dollar they can. Of course industries are different today. One example is the commercial under discussion, another is stations working hard to develop Non-traditional revenue ideas. What's your problem with Joe's post?

I already explained, but I'll indulge...my problem was with the virtuous "sigh" in Joe's post. Quit longing for the days that were and think about what YOU can do to move the needle forward, for yourself and the industry. That's it.

Sounds like a mighty high-horse you are on Mr. Mike. Someone can't <sigh>? You are telling people how to post and what to feel?

As long as the sponsor is clearly identified, the Pacifica decision is adhered to, and it is not advocating something illegal, 99% of the time they will take the spot.

Ashley Madison ring a bell?

any and all of the supplements for this that or the other thing that are not intended to treat cure or diagnose any illness and have not been tested by the FDA ring a bell?

How about every car dealer ad where the disclaimer is pitched 50% and padded -40 Db?

The only time in recent memory I am aware of where a station declined to run spots was WBZ and Mass Citizens For Life IIRC and that was a month or so ago.

Of course, what Ashley Madison is selling is a felony in the Commonwealth.
