Post-Christmas 92.9 format predictions

I'm gonna assume Christmas 92.9 will be a thing of the past after Christmas Day, so it has one more week on the air. What do you think the new, permanent format will be? I'm thinking of a rock or AAA format. Jackson hasn't had a current rock format since Rock 93.9 was changed to Air 1 in January. I'm also thinking AAA because it had a small but loyal following for the short time it was on 100.9 after K-Love transitioned to 94.7.

I am less worried about 92.9 (because I can't pick up the station) although I am curious about the location of the station.

I wonder what the format for 780 will be after Christmas. I wish it would be The Music of Your Life. 780 hada similar format before it was a Spanish-speaking station. 1400 has since had the format, and I enjoyed it very much.

brings back memories, was in retail when 780 was "Spanish" bought some time there (rates were 1.00 as I recall)
& actually made some direct sales as a result -

Someone mentioned that the transmitter is on Beasley Rd. I'm wondering if they're using the old Jack FM tower, since Y101 is planning to switch to that tower (if they haven't done it already). 92.9 does have a pretty good car signal in Madison. Not sure about elsewhere. I can only vouch for Madison since I work there.

It cannot be heard in Terry.

One can hear Christmas music, but there is talk from Hazlehurst over it (very much over it).

92.9 can be picked up in North Jackson and some Madison co. but began to break up by the time you pass the collesum. nearly gone by the time you reach I-20. 780 gets out really good as long as you are not under a powerline, which is increasingly a problem these days. especially in parts of Rankin Co. where AM reception in some areas are nearly impossible due to electrical static generated by Southern Pine. 780's audio is still so messed up, with bad distortion, especially in the mid bass range with it's grinding, fuzzy sound, its not worth listenening to. The audio completly crapped out after the format change. It shouldn't be this way, it has sounded normal in the past.

Is there any chance that they go CBS sports in January? Also is there any way possible they could the get permisson from 780 out of Chicago, owned by CBS, and the FCC to go reduced power at night?

I doubt it, even if they did it would have to be so low power it would barely get out of the parking lot. In cooler weather WBBM Chicago comes in like a local, It would totally drown out WIIN. I tried listening to WIIN AM today, but the audio was so distorted I got annoyed and turned it off.

It's a dead air carrier on 780 on Tuesday. Lets hope they fix the AM audio. it is completly and totally unlistenable. The range of the FM is only a few miles at best. AM 780 is the only way to listen outside of North Jackson.

105.1 in Jackson stunted for a few days with all beatles. But it didn't sound like crap.
Z-106 stunted with all Led Zeppelin one weekend.
