Post Christmas/New Year's Format Flips/Tweaks/Station name Changes?

What, if any, format flip or tweaks do you predict will happen after Christmas music ends or when the New Year begins? With Dave and Chuck gone from 89X and Brent Alberts out at WCSX, and others out at other stations, it makes you wonder what might be going to happen to those stations.

1130 goes talk by March but carries FSR overnight and possibly in other dayparts.
That is probably the most likely format switch. Doug's ratings haven't and probably won't bottom out enough to make Cumulus make a choice. AMP isn't going anywhere just yet, and 105.1 seems set with what they are doing.

If 1130 was gonna flip to talk. they would just assume the 1310 line up when 1310 shuts down at the end of the month. Why would they if they are gonna flip to talk when they got a sister station that is going dark that was talk. wouldnt you think if a flip to talk was coming. they would just flip when 1310 goes dark and not wait to march

Hey, honestly I don't think anyone is flipping formats in 2013 barring something crazy. But if any station was likely to flip, WDFN would be my guess. As for why not assume 1310's lineup, if they decided to go talk, they would probably try something new(Wait, Clear Channel? something new?).

And lest we forget, Clear Channel is blowing up 1310 not too long after donating the station, and making it hard for whomever takes over 1310 since the broadcast towers are coming down after they sign off.

CC may need a spot for some of its syndicated talkers to land soon if they are dropped by Cumulus.

WXYT-AM flips to sports on Jan. 2nd.

With WYCD's success you'd think someone else would try Country, but I can't think of who might flip.

And there lies the deal. Who is willing to take on an established station like WYCD, execute it right and give 99.5 a run for its money? Cumulus isn't letting anyone mess with 96.3's momentum rightnow, and Clear Channel flamed out the last time they went Country.

WJR has the 2 Major CC Talkers in Rush and Hannity. WXYT AM's Current talkers are the 2nd teir guys. if CC Was gonna go Right wing talk on 1130. they would want Rush & Hannity. so they would have to pillage Cumulus to do it. but i dont think they would want to make a partner of theirs in Iheartradio with the Cumulus stations like WJR which is streamed on Iheart now. so why would CC Pull a power play to yank Rush & Hannity from Cumulus. and if WDFN was to go talk they would want Rush & Hannity if they dont put the the 1310 talkers on 1130 first

and BTW WXYT-AM is a CBS Station not a Cumulus station if you didnt realize that
