So Nice Of You....

Fine.

As I asked below, since I don't know of you...
are you a jock or a wannabe?

Mr. Williams doesn't care about private communications, though, because they do not contribute to his post count here. Also, he has now decided to distort facts to his own purpose, so that I am portrayed as evil and invasive.

I did not ask anything about his girlfriend. He menioned a name in one of the private emails, and I know someone by that name, so I asked him to clarify. He did, I apologized, and I thought that was that.

Apparently I was wrong.

I will go ahead and take this platform to formally apologize to anyone and everyone for my behaviour regarding this issue. I should have left it off the board, continued via email only, but I let my emotions get the better of me. This should not be an issue discussed here. I'm sorry.

I've been an ass to quite a few of you, and the only reason some of you put up with me is that you know someone that knows me. Others here have had nice, long email communications in the past and have come to put our differences aside and be civil ( right, ed? we still buds? ) If I have personally offended anyone, I offer my deepest and most sincere apology. I only meant to offend you professionally. ;)<P ID="signature">______________

if its between you two why bring us into this via this board?

Re: You're right... and I'm sorry.

Bingo,
I don't know you -- you don't know me
but if we have a discussion on private e-mail,
I wouldn't post your notes to me here.

Hopefully you two can work this out.
Have a good day.

To answer your question, I have worked in radio since 1970, as a disc jockey, reporter and news anchor.

I don't consider myself talented enough to consider myself an air personality although I am friends with many great talents.

I love radio. Over the years, I have worked at perhaps 20 stations. I was a nomad ... as I often say ... a nowhere man in a nowhere land.

Have worked oldies, top 40, country, beautiful music, all news, standards, easy listening.

I have done traffic for TrafficPulse (John McCarty is a great guy), Metro (Max Miller ditto), and the now defunct Traffic Patrol.

In addition, I wrote position papers for Gary Hart when he ran for president the first time in 1984, a speech for former Mayor Annette Strauss (a wonderful woman). I have also been a speechwriter at Southwestern Bell Telephone for the president of the Texas Division and other officers.

And I have worked at a variety of other jobs.

I raised my son, Brian, alone from the time he was two while sometimes holding two jobs and attending college.

I received my B.A. in Journalism in 1983 from the University of Central Oklahoma.

In 1983, I worked as a reporter for "The Daily Oklahoman" in Oklahoma City. Later that year, I accepted a job as a reporter with United Press International.

But I digress, my first love is radio.

You're right. I should not have posted the emails.

But Bingo made me angry ... extremely.

Anger is a sin ... The Bible says so.

I could not control it apparently. I regret it.

Maybe I have learned a lesson.

The anger is gone ...

If Bingo wants to meet, I will. I have just been really busy and wasting a lot of time posting stupid posts on Radio-Info :).

Well, so all my friends tell me lol.

It is tough to say this ... but I apologize to Bingo for posting private emails.

I still think what he said was wrong. And his diagnosis of me was completely wrong. As I have stated many times, I have bipolar disorder, manic-depressive illness as it is commonly called and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Bingo,

I acted irrationally and unprofessionally, and I apologize to you.

I will remove the emails you sent immediately.

I was wrong. Frankly, I hate admitting it.

You're right. I took great offense to your mentioning her. She was not feeling well, and I just blew my top.

Anyway, the disappearing act on the emails begin now.

Actually...

The Bible says "be angry, but do not sin". Anger is quite godly. It's what one does with it that's the problem.

Jody is right about anger ... Aikido ...

And what Jody says it quite true.

Anger at injustice is one thing; however my anger simply would not end.

Anger is often an endless circle. One insult after another.

One of the most interesting martial arts is aikido (way of fundamental or divine harmony) introduced in the United States in 1953 in San Jose, California.

In aikido, to stop a fight, you sometimes must initially stun your opponent with a punch to the face or ribs to throw that person off balance.

But then you simply you use your arms and body to follow the direction of the attack rather than meeting it head on as in, for example, karate.

And in aikido, you are to pray incessantly that a fight will NOT take place.

That is why in true aikido, competitions are banned.

Koichi Tohei, one of the early masters of Aikido stated in his book, "Aikido in Daily Life" (1966).

"In matches, someone must win, and winning intelf implies an heart filled with fighting. If you strive with all your might to win, it is doubtless very fine for your sportsmanship, but with the burning desire to be victorious you may develop the psychology that any means is all right to help you to win. This attitude can do great harm to you as a person."

Think about that ...

A great friend of mine advised me yesterday, "Let go of the anger."

I am trying ...

Move from the center.

Another tenet of Akido. Even a master is defeated if he has lost his balance.
