At last! The return this morning of CKWX to my location! Between roughly 4:15 and 4:35am CST. Very weak, In and out. but mostly in. Multiple references to "City News 1130", Vancouver weather and traffic, websites ending in ",ca", etc. with female newscaster (I recognized her voice). Distance: 1724 miles. Radio: C Crane skywave.

This is the third or fourth time I've heard CKWX with certainty at my location. The last being about five years ago. (Although I've heard brief snatches of a female news announcer voice since then, and suspected CKWX). This time, however "fer sure", and the top of my wish list is now down to just KNX! Yess!

It really helps matters that 1130 is one of the emptiest channels around here at night. No shortage of big sticks on the channel in the general neighborhood, but I'm in the null of all of them.
Congrats... I've never gotten anything on the west coast from here. Despite being relatively close to you on the Chicago lakeshore, WBBR is pretty dominant on 1130 at night where I am. I rarely hear anything else.

Thanks, Michael. 1130 was unusually quiet before dawn this morning, along with an apparently good path to the west-northwest. After twenty minutes worth of CKWX, I moved up to 1190 and was mildly surprised to hear CFSL from Saskatchewan comfortably on top with a fair signal with only limited fading. Usually, it's missing entirely...or if it's in, it's under something else (such as WOWO).

Nice catch. Have been trying for it lately without any success. It's been a while since I heard it last time.

It's funny, I sort of put my quest on hold for 2-3 weeks. Then when I resumed, it was the old story. Right place at the right time.

I wouldnt say the vancouver stations are like locals 1200 or so miles away, but i dont have much a problem listening to 730, 980, 1130, 1320, 1470 at night

At ~11:30 pm CST, I'm hearing mostly Spanish music from 1070 WCSZ San Souci, SC, along with 1070 KNX periodically fading up to listenable level with many mentions of KNX News 97.1, and traffic and weather (highs in the 70s, lows in the 40s... 59 in Whittier). KNX is the furthest station I've heard at 1688 miles from Picayune, MS. Radio is Sparc SHD-TX2.

Nice catch on KNX

Captured 760 WJR, 1070 KNX, and most surprisingly, 1030 WBZ during the last couple of evenings. Heard station ID on KNX, heard a story read about the Massachusetts DA for WBZ and matched WJR's internet stream.

WJR was the clearest (for a while) while the others were faint.
None of these are regulars here in central Texas, north of Austin in the Georgetown area, particularly 1030, which has been difficult to get on my Grundig Yachtboy.

DFW, Texas -- Sangean ATS-909X -- Times are CST.

A few new stations logged recently:

1330 KPTY IA Waterloo 1/10/2022 2325 Classic C&W "Beaches of Cheyenne", poor u/KNSS // matched web song list
1380 KXFN MO St. Louis 1/8/2022 1630 Relevant Radio talk on Covid vaccine, fair to good u/KRCM (car radio)
1490 KYZS TX Tyler 1/8/2022 2200 Heard KYZS ID briefly in jumble
1670 WOZN WI Madison 1/9/2022 1640 Sports talk fair // stream (car radio)

Daytimer WLOY making yet another appearance on 660 kHz at 8:35 pm CST with EZL music and mentions of "LOY 93.3 FM". No sign of WFAN.

I decided to hang out for a while on the Arctic SDR this evening (Norway). Specifically between 9:00 ahd 9:45pm CST. Of note....

1030: WBZ very weak. Fairly common on the Iceland SDR, not so much on the Norway rig. Talk show with local ads
1110: KFAB even more weak than WBZ but got a positive ID along with ads for Omaha businesses.
1310: CIWW (Ottawa) Strongest signal from North America. Newscast. I still liked it better as "Oldies 1310" :)
1620: Tropical music. weak with fading. My guess is R. Rebelde, but couldn't ID it.

Very nice. I've never heard KFAB on the Arctic SDR.

From south Overland Park, Kansas:

A new "first time" critical hours log in my car on 940 kHz at 6:45am CST: WMAC in Macon, Georgia. At this time, they would have already been on their non-directional 50 kW power and pattern. Still, an excellent new log considering the distance from my location.

When I hear tropical music on 1620 it is WDHP from the US Virgin Islands. I have no idea if that can make it all the way to Norway, but if I recall correctly on 1630 sometimes KCJJ makes it, so maybe it's a possibility.

What I was hearing was definitely in Spanish. Of course, I'm not familiar with WDHP, so they may have been playing Spanish language tropical. As for KCJJ, I'm pretty sure I've heard them on the Norway SDR a couple of times, but I couldn't definitively ID
WBT is what I usually hear on the Westfjords, Iceland SDR.
Yeah, I've heard WBT a couple of times on that SDR. Which is why WBT was originally what I thought I was hearing whenI heard American programing coming through on 1110 on the Norway receiver.,
