90 watts weak copy. This is usually the station heard on this frequency. Have also gotten WCPH Etowah, TN oldies with 109 watts.

KLYC 1260
McMinnville, OR

Heard Fri Nov 22 for 5-10 mintues at a time with a good signal, doing high school football play by play... good mic technique, good, excited play by play announcing and high quality feed,, sounded like a good hardward codec in use.. tieline or comrex.. for the feed form the field to the station

KLYC is fairly common up here, sometimes heard better but not usually for as long a spit as this

Last week, I heard 670-KLTT from Denver, a rare catch here. Usually, it's the Chicago sports station.

KLTT's daytime makes it to Amarillo.

KLTT's nighttime signal goes more into western Colorado, though I recall it being very weak when I was in Trinidad, CO (south-central CO), and Raton, NM.

Those maps are not "coverage maps" per se. They are representations of the directionality of each station, and do reflect to some extent the protection each station must be given by other stations on the same channel.

11/24 21:55 CST 870 KC While listening to the Eagles game on WWL, keep hearing that " tick, tick" which is usually Radio Reloj. Also have been hearing those musical tones all evening on this frequency. I don't see them listed in Wikipedia as being in Cuba. Nothing in fact is shown for Cuba. Very few stations on this frequency at night, even in other countries. WWL comes in better here during the day, too much fading at night.

Tonight, I heard something relatively strong and listenable on 1060, which is unusual because it's mostly jammed by KTCT's slop 99% of the time, even 150 miles north in the Lake and Mendocino county area, so I listened for a bit to get an ID, hoping maybe it was KYW or something exotic and distant.

Alas, it was not. It is still worth mentioning though, as it is still a station I haven't heard before: KFOY.

I think it must be on day power, which is 5,000 watts. I doubt it would reach this far on proper night power (500 watts).

Tonight (12:35 a.m. CT Tue 11/26), the wobbler is playing havoc with WWL 870. Seems to be a bit of an auroral night anyway, but WWL is in the mush at times, under the ol' wobble.

That "warbling" sound makes listening to WWL pretty impossible. That's a shame because I enjoy their NFL broadcasts. They'll announce games even if they're not The Saints. The problem here is I'm in between their signal being local/dx, and propagation is good some nights but lousy others. I've never heard anyone mention that sound on the air. You'd think it would cost them many listeners. But if it's coming from another country there's nothing they can do about it.

None of the Chicago clears have really come in here lately in Austin, Texas.
Last night, at 6:30 p.m. in sheer darkness in my car driving around, 670, 720, 780 & 890 were all blank, or filled with Mexicans.
850-Denver came in clearly.

Several hours later on my Yachtboy, only 780 came in well with a ballgame on 890.

Lately, 670 has been so weak the Denver 670 has competed with it, particularly before 7 a.m. CT.

3 of the 4 Chicago clears were coming in okay tonight in the Austin TX area.
Only 720 was absent, no sound at all except for a Mexican station.

2nd to WGN, 670 was the weakest. Turning the radio nulled it to a Mexican.

780 and 890 were decent.

I prefer 720 over the others.

The warbling sound on 870 doesn't matter much to WWL as their 105.3 FM covers the entire New Orleans market and anyone that has to listen to 870 would be outside of the market. WWL is the second strongest station I get, but I still hear the wobbler a bit with WWL nulled. A similar sound on 1040 also makes it difficult to hear WHO at times.

I used to get RHC about 20 years ago but that's the only Cuban station I've ever gotten here.
RHC was only short wave, I believe, even in the “crisis” years of the 60’s.

12/1 21:44 CST 1060 KC unknown station playing soft piano music, very soothing.
Very good copy. Appears to be coming from the south, can't pinpoint exact direction but if I turn the radio northwest and northeast it can still be heard. I've heard this station before.

Maybe XECPAE Radio Educación in Mexico City. Usually strong over here in Houston.
