Post your latest DX

680 is more likely CJOB than the East Coast stations. And keep trying 680, maybe right now, as KBRW Barrow can be huge on that SDR. I had KCBF-820 Fairbanks with ESPN last night, around 0900z.

I was trying for some Alaska stations, but didn't hear one. I'll keep listening. Any idea what I was hearing on 1510? It faded out before I could get an ID.

Trying for Montana so I camped on 770 kHz before sunset. Was happy to log four different stations in a short period of time, including KATL in Montana which is a new state for me. All times are CST. Using a Sangean PR-D4W and Tecsun AN-200 loop.

770 WVNN AL Athens 15:50 ID followed by Limbaugh weekend. Very strong and clear. Usual WEW St. Louis not heard.

770 KUOM Minneapolis 16:07 ID with website reference radiok.org followed by alternative rock music then gone after six or seven minutes.

770 KATL MT Miles City 16:30 Adult contemporary music. Fading in and out with band noise but two consecutive songs were easily confirmed via the station web-stream at tunein.com.

770 WABC New York 17:05 Booming in, then fading in and out.

Just heard KCJJ on the arctic SDR before 6PM CST. Also, on the Hawaii SDR I wonder if the music station on 780 that I occasionally hear mixing with KKOH & WBBM could be KNOM?

More arctic catches around 11:30--midnight CST--680 was a strong CJOB with KBRW underneath. Also heard KCBF Fairbanks on 820, mostly good.
1160 was KSL with WYLL underneath sometimes rising above briefly. Heard WSCR a couple times under KBOI which mostly dominated, but there was a third station in there sometimes-KDLG? 1510 -KGA Spokane was mostly good with a little fading. 1130 KTLK was even stronger tonight. Heard something on 690 in English, but it didn't match the stream from Vancouver. Have to do more digging on this one. Love the arctic receiver!

@ Schroed :

Your WBTX catch also was my latest new AM catch. I had posted somewhere that the wife and I heard them at breakfast, at some unjeezly hour the day they set the clocks back. Or ahead. Or whatever they do to clocks in November.

I just remember the dial being so ....*quiet* at that hour. The kitchen GE SR 11 was also using wall current. The usual daytime digital racket just wasn't there at all.
I left a message on WBTX's answering machine, and the PD called be BACK the next day to verify that yes, it was they, and we shot the breeze. I did a promo for his station, full-fidelity phone sonics, hi. I doubt they'll ever use it.

The PD used to WORK up in these parts, so he knows the area. Me? I haven't the foggiest idea where Broadway-Timberville Virginia is. I have to think hard nowadays to remember where Virginia itself is.

The Arctic SDR is cool, but it must be next door to an aeronautical beacon that bleeds all over the lower part of the band.

On this SDR tonight, I had both WBBR and WISN on 1130, with WISN dominating. Also WBZ. Last night presumably CBW with CBC programming on 990.

Been listening to 1510 (1512?) for a half hour on the Arctic SDR and have a mix of Classic Hits (heard at least one U.S. accented announcer, US talk (presumably WLAC) and a station in an Asian language. JUST IDed: KCKX, Littleton, CO (93.7 The Rock). It got loud and dominating. Reception on this machine in this area is wild!

I was trying for some Alaska stations, but didn't hear one. I'll keep listening. Any idea what I was hearing on 1510? It faded out before I could get an ID.

I thought it might be WLAC, but I couldn't get an ID. I also received WBZ on the Arctic SDR. Also, I noticed the beacon on the lower frequencies. Can be annoying when trying to ID something.

Last night at 0330Z/2030 MST, heard "News Radio 630," then faded. According to my search engine, there is only one station using that slogan, WLAP in Lexington, KY. They're 5-kW directional. The pattern isn't all bad for SE AZ, and I suspect there may have been an Es cloud along the way, that could skew the path.

Oh, and at 0310Z, I IDed KBLU -- in Yuma!

WLAP used to be fairly common for me, but I haven't heard much of it lately. If they increased night power from 1kw to 5kw, maybe they went to a pattern that's less favorable for my location. Or perhaps....speaking of pattern changes....now that CFCO pretty much owns 630 here at night, WLAP has a tougher time breaking through.

NDBs on the ArcticSDR? There are actually NDBs in Ukraine and Russia that are above 530 khz. I've heard some in the 700-780khz area. Not bleed whatsoever.
Last night was a crazy Asian morning on the receiver! First check was 756 with at least three CNR-1's echoing from China, I'm guessing Harbin is the strongest. 1188 had JOKP Kitami // 594, NHK1. Strong Yanbian in KK on 1205.96. 1332 JOSF Nagoya (commercial Japanese) in well. 1368 had an UNID CC station that wasn't CNR. The strongest is 10KW Jixi RGD, but I couldn't find a stream. 558 had JJ underneath a co-channel, JOCR Kobe (commercial). And over at 1395khz was a PARALLEL JJ! Asiawaves lists a 1KW relay, JOCE Toyooka. Fantastic! 1287 JOHR Sapporo was strong with HBC, Japanese commercial station; and a // on 1404 was JOQL Kushiro. S9+ signal on 1440 JOWF with a USA cochannel. Speaking of USA, 1470 WMBD Peoria was in well with an ID into Coast to Coast.
819 had KCBS in Pyongyang. Sounding like I was in North Korea itself, S9+20 with the usual odd music. One notch over at 820, and it was KCBF Fairbanks AK (ESPN). Final log, 1503 JOUK Akita // 594, NHK1. I heard very little from EU, just Asia wall-to-wall and some USA/Canada.

I listened to that receiver early this morning and I heard many of those stations including the 819 in Pyongyang-quite strong. In fact at the time I was listening about 6AM CST, there was very little from North America, but a whole lot from Asia.
