Post your latest DX

Took a ride on the Iceland receiver around 0630-0715UTC 12/12. Heard 1390 from Maine with a good signal. WINS, WBZ, WBBR, and most of the usual east coast power houses were in. WWKB was very strong. Also heard WGN & WBBM. WBBM rising up to a pretty good signal at times. Also KXEL was in pretty well. Since there's no action on the Arctic receiver this one has been my go to for some trans-Atlantic DX.

Good eastern conditions apparently. Mike Cherry near Victoria BC reporting WCKY under KFBK, and a DXer in Ladysmith, VA (on the BCB logger) just got CKMX-1060 Calgary!

First new one since 11/29!

1350 - KLHC CA, Bakersfield; at 2114 PT 12/14, poor with foreign talk under KSRO/KRLC, man talking. Pulled up KLHC, Punjabi Radio USA and it was the same man, in Punjabi, talking on the phone to a host. NEW #797, presumed 1KW (albeit could be 33 watt night power) at 808 miles.

This is a VERY difficult channel to receive a new station on! KSRO, KRLC and KTIK hold roost on 1350 all night long and there are few high-powered stations elsewhere on the west coast or Midwest. Are headphones the best invention since sliced bread and the wheel? I could argue for it. :)

Also had WSCR-670 earlier with Monday Night Football, right under KBOI. Good conditions all along on MW.

KNZZ 1100 Grand Junction, CO coming in on top of KFAZ San Francisco, which is kinda rare. On my PR-D14. The two stations are swapping places, with minimal splash from local KFNQ 1090.

On the Deer Harbor, Wa SDR I heard a good signal from WBBM fighting it out and sometimes beating KKOH. On the Masset, BC
SDR I heard a very good signal from KNOM with cold and snowy weather forecasts. WGN was weak, but on the Iceland receiver WGN was pretty good. The Arctic receiver as usual pretty dead although I did hear a weak KTLK which was the only NA station I could hear. All this was around 0530UTC--0610UTC.

KLHC Was a weak kinda sorta but not quite regular in WY... signal was never very good, so i assume night power.. but the high energy high pitched music REALLY stood out.

I've heard KSRO several times, quite well in Alaska

Hearing KNX Los Angeles with a good listenable signal at 11 am local time on the Northern California SDR in Whitmore.

No trace of KFI, though.

Really good opening early this morning (12/15) between here (Chicago area) and Toronto. Around 4:30am, (1030 UTC), on 680 I was hearing what I thought was CJOB on the SRF-37 Walkman. Nope. It turned out to be CFTR, strong and with a positive ID with WSCR nulled. I can't remember when I last heard them here....if ever! Moving up the dial, CFZM and CJBC both blasting. Then came another couple of surprises....CFRB and CHUM both in on 1010 and 1050 respectively. CFRB alone and strong. CHUM fair with stuff underneath,. Further up the dial, what I presume was CKOC underneath WHBY on 1150. That one is tentative since I never heard a positive ID and fading was frequent. Finally, at the top of the dial were CKDO, CHHA, and CINA. CHHA was the strongest of the three, while CINA was weak under KCNZ.

I'm pretty sure this is the only time I've ever heard at least a half-dozen Toronto area signals in one sitting (without being in Toronto!)

I tried 680 around sunset and was able to hear CFTR although the signal was not too good and WSCR was interfering. But I got "...TR Toronto" and they were giving local traffic info (it was rush hour on the infamous Highway 401).

By the way, a couple of weeks ago I got a new (for me) Toronto you didn't mention... CJCL 590. It might be easier where you are, but where I am WKZO tends to dominate anything else from that direction.

I have never heard CFTR but have tried many many times. I have 740/1610 Toronto in the logbook, along with 820 CHAM, 1580 CKDO, 900 CHML and on a spectacular night in 2014, 630 CFCO. I have not heard 860 CJBC, every time I get French on 860 it's CBKF-2 in Saskatoon.

I was surprised that CHAM was missing. I actually had heard them (briefly) last week in the mix with WCPT and WBAP. I did think I heard CHML, but couldn't ID it (they're a semi-regular around here). As for CFCO, they've become a regular in recent years, but theire was nothing remarkable about their signal this morning. If anything, they were weaker than usual.

Nice catch with CJCL ("The Fan"). I've never heard CJCL at my location. Or their predecessor on 590, CKEY, They have a very tight pattern aimed north. And as for the "infamous 401". Oh yeah....It's a monster. Even with twelve lanes. Cause of being late for more than a few of my appointments as well as almost missing a couple of flights. The Don Valley Parkway (DVP) and The Queensway (The Queenie) are usually even worse....albeit with fewer lanes.

I have heard CFTR in the Chicago area, but not often and not in quite awhile.
It's in tonight – right now (10:30 p.m. CT), in fact – battling back and forth with CJOB. Just heard a CFTR ID and the two-beep signature at the bottom of the hour. There's nothing like getting traffic from Toronto and weather from Winnipeg simultaneously. But I've never gotten CJCL on 590. Remember it from 1430 after the call switch from CKFH. (WKZO and KXSP, which I can't help but think of as WOW, were fighting it out on 590 tonight.)

DX Alert!

1300 - KOLY SD, Mobridge; on top of the jumble with Barry Manilow song and ID 'AM 1300 KOLY and FM 101.9 Mobridge' at 2058 PT 12/15. Relog, but MUST be on 5KW day power. Go get it my fellow DXers!
