Post your latest DX

In Vallejo, CA

On my SRF-A1, I tried DXing 1440 KVON Napa, Couldn't pick it up only I could just hear a Stereo Pilot, or what ever you call it

But on my Sangean DT-200X, On 1450 I hear something behind KEST San Francisco, Might of been KOBO Yuba City

AM Stereo is fun.

However, given that it is largely extinct (having been supplanted by both FM and digital AM), the odds of hearing it "in the wild" are slim to none. Aside from KVON, which is an anomaly.

AM stereo would be a great idea, it eliminates the hollow, sometimes raspy sound inherent to analog AM. Too bad it never took off.

TWO LOCALS OFF LAST NIGHT...new logs!
KRRB-88.1 and KDBI-106.3 were off the air around 10:30 last night, and stayed off well past midnight. Pulled out these NEW stations on 88.1 and 106.3:

- CKSB-10-FM Winnipeg, MB, French talk, only possible match, NEW #329, 100KW at 941 miles.
- KTFY Buhl ID, with Hillsong Worship "What a Beautiful Name" // 88.3 local. They are a simulcast of KTSY with some local flair included. NEW #330, 60KW at 148 miles.

On 106.3, I heard KDBI Kalispell MT around 11:10 last night. Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean // stream and playlist. This is NEW #331, 60KW at 288 miles. Plane scatter rocks when the locals are off. I often will get the Classical music signal from KBCK-95.9 Columbia Falls, I believe it's Classical 24. So I rapidly tuned over to 106.3 and hit paydirt.

Also NEW to logs is KKMK-93.9 Rapid City SD, with two meteor bursts in one minute, both with "Roll to Me" Del Amitri // stream, playlist. NEW #332, 100KW at 633 miles.

KYET 1170 AM in Golden Valley / Kingman AZ boasts that they broadcast in AM Stereo (C-QUAM). Their Classic Country Format, Sounds Very Good. They recently added an FM Translator simulcast at 92.3 FM there, but their Online Streaming recently switched / started playing their Sister Station 100.1 KGMN.

If you are east of the Mississippi, and not busy trying to get your BBQ started, TURN ON YOUR FM RADIO.

Es is going wild with 2 meter and NOAA skip from Kansas east. Listening to Cape Cod and pulling in KRVI-106.7 MO, KLRC-90.9 OK, and many others...lots of swapping.
Local Cleveland FMs are wiped out by Es on an SDR in Akron. KBBN-95.3 NE like a local and many others swapping. Es all the way through 107.7 with WENZ 107.9 getting chewed up

UPDATE - Just heard KSD-93.7 St. Louis on the Akron OH FM DX SDR. 500 miles away. *There are indications that the MUF HAS MADE IT TO CHANNEL 7 OR EVEN CHANNEL 8

Wow the MUF numbers are almost off the charts today. Hopefully there's lots of good things on the dial today ...

Last logs from that Akron SDR...

KNZS-103.9 KS, KHYM-103.9 KS, KKBL-95.9 MO, KLCV-88.5 NE, KRXO-107.7 OK, the JACK FM 103.1 in Rolla MO, and 20-30 others before that...it's still 2-3, even 4 deep on channels. And get this. 2 mile away Air 1 translator on line-of-sight wiped out by KIXQ 102.5 Joplin. I could NOT believe it!

Is anybody doing any good with low-VHF TV DX this morning? I'm not.

Right now I'm considering breaking one of my old analog TVs out of mothballs and turning my DATBOSS towards Cuba, just to see if anything happens. As I understand it, they've still got stations down there broadcasting in analog. ¡Hasta la victoria siempre!

Low-VHF DTV might be possible on skip. But FM is where it's at right now. Still top of band to the Akron OH SDR with 98.9 The Rock Kansas City, KGCR-107.7 Goodland, many others.

KMDG-105.7 Hays is destroying Majic 105.7 Cleveland on that aforementioned Akron OH SDR. The Es is still intense. 144 MHz MUF has been sustained for nearly 3 hours.
On 100.7, even the legendary Buzzard WMMS is getting chewed to pieces by KHOK Hoisington KS. KAIR-93.7 KS, KVSV-105.5 KS, KCJK-105.1 Kansas City, KJLS-103.3 Hays OVER the Moody station in Cleveland, WGAR GONE replaced by KHAZ-99.5...one of the craziest Es openings I have ever heard counting those I have heard myself.

Es now in for over 5 hours and most of that at 2-meter MUF or higher. DXers all over the Midwest and east are logging NOAA Weather Es from 1000-1200 miles distance. Has been trying to come out here too with weak Christian music fadeups on 88.9 and 90.1.

Lots a Great Stuff Today !! 📻 Many Channels from Minnesota, North Dakota and even Winnipeg, Canada (CKSB-10-FM) 88.1 🇨🇦 CBC in French !! But Wait There's More! All showing up on the Dial today in Upstate SC 🤯 MUF Numbers over 150 MHz today ! Very Rare and Unusual.

CKSB-10-FM 🇨🇦 (88.1) 🍀 The Furthest E-Skip DX I've Ever Heard On The Radio So Far! (About 1300+ Miles)

The best radio you need is a TEF6686 (AliExpress sells them). Go with the silver unit or the DP666 variant. They are the equivalent of a good car radio chip, and do an amazing job on FM (better than any other portable out there).

BTW, E skip has returned on the east coast. The strongest path seems to be from Ontario to ND/MB up to 101.9 or higher.
