Post your latest DX

If the Eagles came out today, because their biggest hits were slow ballads (Lyin' Eyes, Best of My Love, Take It To The Limit, Desperado, etc.), they wouldn't be played on today's "hit radio."
What does that have to do with the "country gold" played on country format radio stations?

And, as said previously by other, that is an opinion and not a fact.

You are talking... theoretically... about what today's AC stations would do if a 40 year old song was released today?

8/7 10:30 PM EDT 1250 KC WPGP Pittsburgh, PA "The Answer." Good copy.

Possibly heard WCHO Washington Court House, OH oldies weaker copy. I have heard them from Florida once before. I am currently in Wildwood, NJ listening. WPGP is listed as 5kw, while WCHO, if it's them, is 42 watts nighttime. Even if they were running their daytime power of 500 watts that would still be great dx. In the past I have found this location to be a great spot for dx. I like their oldies format, would definitely listen if possible.

Well it's now 11:00, and like a dummy I missed the hourly id because I was typing this! Argh! Good dx to all. Just heard them id, yes it's them!

Pretty Strong Tropo DX last night on FMDX.org Servers:

WROX & WHRO (and WHRE) from Delmarva Virginia / Norfolk Area were showing up on the Tabernacle NJ FM Server - @ 200+ Miles

Also, WBLS & WLTW from NYC were showing up in/on the Hartford CT Tuner @ 100 Miles

Perseids meteor scatter is ramping up as we get closer to the peak on Tuesday night. Made two confirmed logs today, one is NEW!

KKWZ-95.3 Rugby ND, at 3:09PM MT with "Africa" Toto, RDS PI 2CBD matching station. This is 807 miles and a relog from 7/4's Es.
KYGO-98.5 Denver CO, at 4:35PM MT with KYGO.com reference. NEW #426, 99KW at 651 miles.

Getting ready to make some overnight recordings beaming NE to SE on 3-4 FM frequencies this week.

Last night I saw multiple meteors and heard some new stations as the Perseids has peaked.

I did have a couple of logs before the peak last night:
8/12, 2:30PM - 98.5 KHAQ Maxwell NE w/ "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" by The Hollies, match to stream and playlist. Relog, 100KW at 807 miles.
8/12, 4:51PM - 97.3 KRVY Starbuck, MN; Asia "Heat of the Moment" matching stream at the same time. Antenna east. NEW #427, 50KW at 1001 miles.

Then at the peak:
11:45PM - 97.5 KQSK Chadron, NE; giant 45-second burst with "People Are Crazy" by Billy Currington and an RDS match. NEW #428, 100KW at 660 miles. Many other UNIDs noted through 103.1.
11:56PM - 92.9 KAFF-FM Flagstaff, AZ; country music and an RDS PI match (A187). NEW #429, 98KW at 702 miles.
11:56PM - 93.3 KDKB Mesa, AZ; same burst, with alternative rock and RDS PI 18F1. NEW #430, 100KW at 801 miles.

I haven't listened to the AM SDRs in a while but thought I'd check them out.

WFIL Philadelphia was coming in fairly well and all alone on the Bermuda SDR.

The signal sounded about the same as I remember hearing them at night down at the Jersey shore in their top 40 days.

But it wasn't long until it got weaker and other stations on 560 started to come in.

NC & VA Beach Stations Reaching 300+ Miles to Central/South Jersey (Tabernacle NJ FM Tuner Server) this evening. VA Beach Stations Including WNOB (even over local WSTW) WYFI WVBW WWDE WROX WVKL WPTE WTWV & NC Stations WKJX WLGP WNCT WSFL and WRHT, and more, Numerous Delmarva on the dial, while many local Philly stations have more than usual static or unlistenable. Very Strong Tropo DX conditions!

The other day, I tried to DX KYNO, and I was greeted instead by an unrelenting roar of 60 Hz buzz spread out all across the AM band (with a hole at 740 and a couple of other frequencies).

I went outside with my radio, and found that if I aimed the null of the radio at the power pole across the road, which happens to contain the transformer that serves my house, the buzz disappeared. And when I aimed it head on, the buzz got louder.

So, today, I actually called the power company about it, because this happened kind of suddenly (there have been other noises, but all have been inside the house; this is outside) and it could be an early warning sign of transformer failure. I wonder what they will do about it?

Wow what strong tropo conditions in Central NJ this evening - Station 104.5 WNVZ in Virginia Beach over 200 Miles Away - beating the Local Philly Alt 104.5 WRFF not even 30 miles away.

Edit: Also 106.9 WAFX (100kw) in VA
over the Local WKVP K-Love - Tabernacle NJ

Ive run into this teach time,. and each time i gather as much evidence (like one place, it happened when a nearby street light went on).. and i tell them it obliterates my am radio reception across the entire band.

I've had companies come by as soon as the next day

In Los Angeles it's common for San Diego and Tijuana signals to come in due to tropospheric ducting, but this evening it was exceptional.
Here in downtown, I was able to receive the HD Radio signal for 89.5 KPBS, 94.9 KBZT, and 101.5 KGB, as well as receiving channel 15.1 KPBS. This is my first digital TV DX.

For analog FM, it was almost the full band: 90.3, 91.1, 91.7, 92.5, 93.3, 94.1, 94.9, 95.7, 96.5, 97.3, 98.1, 98.9, 99.3, 100.7, 101.5, 103.7, 104.3, 105.3, 107.3. They were completely wiping out the digital sidebands of most LA stations.

On the bottom of the FM images, you can see the Bitrate and Bit Error Rate. It was 24% for KBZT but it kept playing without dropouts. For KGB the BER was 4.2%, and as an iHeart station it displayed the San Diego traffic map. For 89.5 KPBS the error rate was 0.45%
HD Radio was decoded using a RTL-SDR, and Linux Mint with the NRSC5 DUI python app.

Thursday Night (or Friday Morning). Midnight hour. Southington, Connecticut. I picked up 103.7 WKNE-FM from Keene, New Hampshire. It was mixing with the 103.7 Translator of WMRD 1150-AM/Middletown, Connecticut. It was the only distant station I picked up. No special radio. Just an Emerson clock radio with digital tuner I picked up from Walmart.
