Postings about Guam and CNMI Broadcasting

Where does one post commentaries, news about the broadcasting scene in the Marianas? Guam is a US territory and the Northern Marianas (Saipan, Tinian, Rota, etc.) form a Commonwealth. Some Guam signals are rebroadcast on Saipan.

Wonder how many in the U.S. know that the NMI is our “other” Commonwealth?
Actually, the only one. Someone in Washington translated "Estado Libre Asociado" or "Free Associated State" as "Commonwealt" in regards to Puerto Rico. It's really not a definition-compliant commonwealth.

And the recent typhoon has sparked interest in how well the local broadcast infrastructure is doing, including shortwave outlets.

Wonder how many in the U.S. know that the NMI is our “other” Commonwealth?
I hadn't heard of it until it was on the back of a quarter when they were doing US territories.

I have been talking about Guam and the CNMI on the podcast on the past few days because of Mawar.

5/31. Wow! In today's Guam-CNMI FCC Report this little tidbit...

"Special Temporary Authority (STA)/Waivers/Extensions"

"The FCC may grant Special Temporary Authority (STA) to permit immediate or temporary operation of certain radio facilities during emergencies or other urgent conditions, as well as waivers to support emergency communications and service restoration."

·"Emergency STA granted to Nimitz Carrier Group on May 28, 2023 to broadcast on commercial FM in Guam until May 31, 2023. On May 30, 2023 Media Bureau granted an extension until June 30, 2023."
