POTS ONLY CODEC HELP

Situation coming up where I will need to run a remote station from a remote location. POTS is all that is available at both places. For you POTS Guru's, what is the best solution I can use to get audio from location a (studio) to location b (transmitter). Delay is no issue, I would rather quality. I am looking for two boxes, as simple as can be with a straight dial in.

Have used the Tieline Commander series for about 6 years. No complaints. Warning: not cheap.

And I should have mentioned that money would be some factor. It is temporary (probably 3 months), so something used or with a great resale value is probably in the pipe. If I buy new, it will be spotless when we are done with it.

I'd go with Tieline or Comrex. A thing a guy aught to think about is compatiblity within your market also. Ask around what the majority of the people in your area are using. Go with the same if possible. You might have a unforseen use to connect to them at some point. I agree that you aught to check into the IP-based ones if you're buying "new" also. If you get a hell of a deal used for POTS-only, go for it. Otherwise get the IP too. You'll be happy you did in the future. Also, one thing you might check into with SCMS or other vendors is if there's a refurb available for purchase. I bought a Tieline G3 that way at a fairly decent discount.

Check with Mike at SCMS,he may have a pair of Hotline units.can you get enough height to have los? Might consider Barix units with nanostation m5's. Back in the day,you could order a burgular alarm pair and put the old Western Electric 110 EQ's at each end..worked very good..
