Now that New York City has already got their PPM system started back in the fall, Poughkeepsie still uses the diary system until the PPM's will take place in the next 3 years which will be 2012. Let's get on with, what will we have here:
1. WPDH wins big! Congratulations! WPDH goes back to #1 for the first time in a few years as a classic rock station beating WBPM to the punch at a 2 share. WBPM is a good station than CBS-FM and Randy Turnip did an excellent job for doing the "Music Blimp" every Saturday night, kudos to him! The "Music Blimp" rocks!!!!! Way to go!
2. WSPK is down a little bit, but it's okay
3. "Kiss-FM" an urban hip-hop/R&B/rhythmic station sounded the same as "Hot 97" and "Power 105" does than to WBLS and WRKS. Somebody give me an advil? I'm not going to explain that. It's down a little bit.
4. WBWZ and WBPM are all tied, as I said before, the "Music Blimp" sounds great as mentioned many times on the board, the show does well playing a bunch of New Wave music for hardcore fans of 80's New Wave music, pretty fun, isn't it! WBWZ's "Star 93.3" had a new syndicated show back in the fall where Ryan Seacrest from "American Idol" now being syndicated on this station, but on the other hand, Z-100 already carried Ryan's show from LA. If you are a Ryan Seacrest fan or an "American Idol" fan, go check out his show. He's good.
5. "The Wolf" sounded much better than WRWD, except another football game to be carry on "The Wolf" is the New York Jets football which was a few months ago, I'm a Giants fan, but I don't listen to the Jets, because I'm not a Jets fan. Now we two of these sports team to be carried on "The Wolf", they got Yankees baseball which I'm still a Yankee fan, the Jets football, because I'm not a Jets fan, but as for the music, it sounds good. You should give WRWD credit for that, as for the Country war, WRWD, it's still down a little bit I think. I was predicting that "The Wolf" will ever go to #1? No! That's what I said in my 2009 predictions thread back a few weeks ago during the New Year.
6. "Lite-FM" is a good station than WHUD 92.1, but 98.5 sounds better with B&S which is better than Howard Stern, O&A and Imus, but it does uses the same traffic sounder from WHUD. I checked three stations which are WRNQ and WCTW are still playing the traffic sounder and WHUD plays the same thing. I've heard during dinner time and in the morning when I was living in Putnum Valley. You got to give the station credit.
Now for the AM's
WKIP went way down when it was the station playing adult standards MOR/"Music of Your Life" format can also usually heard on WHUC, WGHQ and WELV many years ago since 2001, as for the talk station, it's way down, not too good for this one. Sorry!
And now for my ratings prediction, if Arbitron continues with the old diary system, maybe people in the Hudson Valley will make a prediction if they can go the PPM system which will be in effect by the next 3 years. Albany will have one next year and the Hudson Valley by 2012. Any questions?
