Power 106 Mixes

Hey, everyone.

Does anyone have any old recorded Power106 mixshows from 2000-2008?

Those were the glory days at Power. I miss that era.

If anyone has any recordings of Power from those years, please let me know! I'm willing to pay you for those recordings!

I'm also trying to get a hold of old KPWR tapes. People on here say that Power 106's glory days were in the 80's though. I think the 90's and early 2000's were their glory days when they had real imaging as a hip hop station. Yes the majority of their music is hip hop but a majority of their airstaff is hispanic. If KPWR Airchecks has some 90's up to 2008 Airchecks in his possession he'll hit this post up. You can send him a private message maybe you'll get a response. YouTube has some tapes of Friday Flavas from 1997-98 when Baka Boyz was hosting and there really worth listening too. To KPWR Airchecks, please supply us with some Airchecks from the 1990's to 2008 post them on YouTube and post the link on here.

I wasn't listening to Power in the 80's or 90's.. but the mid 2000's was so fun to listen to.

The playlist and programming was great - the mixshows were awesome.

I have tons from the early 90's. That was when Humpty used to do The Weekend Kick Off Mix. I also have some from the Saturday Night Dance Party, which later became the Saturday Night Street Party and some from The Power Workout. Too bad they're all on Tape or else I would post them for download.

Its not that hard to post stuff from cassette, it just takes some time to digitize because you have to do it in real time. You will need a Cassette deck with RCA out, a cable with RCA male plugs on one end, and a Mini plug on the other end. Then you plug the RCA end to the RCA OUT and the Mini plug into your PC's Mic input. You will need an editing program to record into. There are a couple you can get for free like Audacity, or you can buy Adobe Audition (my favorite). Its pretty simple to edit on either program. Make sure you choose MP3 as a format just because it takes up less space, than WAV files. Once its digitized then you can post them.

What?!? Power's best years were, without question, the first 5-7 years. What I call...the Original Power 106.

By the way, if you have any airchecks of KPWR Power 106 from the 80s and early 90s, let me know.

Power 106's #1 Fan.

I wasn't even alive in the 80's! Haha.

My fav years were mid 2000's. Do you have any recordings from that time?

Sorry, I don't. But - you may find some on YouTube. Do a search for "mickey fickey mix" and "Power 106 mixes." I know there are a few, but not sure if they're from 2000-2008.

Lol! I was born in 1993 and Power 106's best years were in the mid 90's to 2005. They were a dance station in the 80's then The Baka Boyz came along in the mid 90's and the station became more urban. When we were in diapers in the 90's & in grade school in the early 2000's, The Beat & Power 106 were LA's hottest hip hop spots and KJLH was struggling. Anyway YouTube will solve your problem, I've found airchecks for Friday Flavas on November 28, 1997 and February 20, 1998 there worth watching so check them out for a yourself.
