Thats a question there. But Radio One is committed to keeping KKBT focused on the African-american community with its R&B/Hip-Hop format now that KPWR has shifted its direction and focus towards targeting KIIS, regardless of ratings.

I think radio "pros" need to start listening to dissatisfaction of listeners before terrestrial radio becomes an "almost-also-ran." It's already being pushed further and further into the background thanks to owners and management with no vision; used to be that the beautiful music station in town would be the cheap one that was designed to be like wallpaper. Now it seems all the music stations are. Just looking at what the numbers are will not put any product, especially radio, in the top tier of its category.

On the other hand. The Beat still sounds like it's focusing on 18-34, albeit the middle- to upper-end, but 18-34 still more important to them than it is to Jack, Hot 92 Jamz or Free-FM (no matter what Free-FM tries to sound like).
