Power 92 lets go three!!!

After the whole huge fight to get Sam Sylk to come back to Chicago from Cleveland... (knew that was a mistake)
...along with dropping an Urban AC syndicated morning show (TJMS) onto a Urban MAINSTREAM station (sleepy-steve scenario repeated)
...while continuing to simulcasting TJMS on a whatever-huh-what the ****** format station they also own (106.3) to confuse morning ratings
...along with breaking up the midday shift just to maintain their morning "star" (Tre) on the air and not let go their re-hire (Shawn) cuz that woulda been a shaft to him

they decided to let go all three becaus they are "TOO OLD" for the demo!!

but TJMS is so "young"
brilliance is a virtue~

If they were too "old" for the demo, then why is the station broadcasting the TJMS? Tom Joyner is in his 60's now!!!!

Also, GCI has Tony Sculfield on the Morning Riot, but he is "out of the demo" as well.

Believe it or not, he was 100.3 The Beat in St. Louis back in 2000 when they were still on the air.

UPDATE bigger newsflash WHOAAA

first yeh 100.3 the beat had TJMS for a year and that was gettin rips before. Same thing when they trashed Dee Lee which i thought was a pretty good morning show for steve harvey. But back to WPWS

RICKEY SMILEY ON POWER 92 COMING SOON WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Crawford is clueless as to what to do with the 92.3 frequency. I highly doubt the Ricky Smiley Morning Show will have much of an affect on Tony on WGCI. WGCI has the 18-34 on lock for a variety of reasons. It's kind of pointless if you ask me because you would think competition would make WGCI be more competitive or something but they even see 92.3 as a joke hence why they stick to their guns. Crawford could try to move their COL from Hammonds to maybe a closer in suburb of Chicago on the Illinois side, but likely with a wattage downgrade though.

Already talked about 92.3 moving last year and spacing wise don't think it can happen.

Anyways Crawford was doing great when they had Kendra G and Tre on mornings, after Kendra left the show fell apart. Problem is WPWX lost the 18-34 with TJMS, they should have thought to get rid of Tre for Rickey immediately. Now they have to lure the listeners back to WPWX for the mornings which can be hard to do once they are gone.

Bottom line its all about cost cutting and their ratings dipped and obviously theyre not making as much as they used to and trying to re-capitalize on that and going the cheap route. Time will tell.

Shoulda still kept Soul 106.3... not this real radio ishh too..

I realllly thought they was going to make 92.3 UAC. It was looking like that for a minute.

It would have been nice to see 92.3 go Urban AC. WVAZ just sounds like crap now and its boring. Steve Harvey in the morning just put the final nail in the coffin. WVAZ wins by default. WSRB had more varaitey and a better playlist. I remeber when they first started it was a decent Urban AC station with good jocks but that signal keeps them down and cost cutting killed WSRB.
