POWER 96 and B96

It would be great to have a Power 96 type station in Az, but........ and what makes it worse is that with all the things that are going on with certain Az radio stations, it COULD happen! Only problem is now there really is no room for it.
Actually I don't even know what I'm talking about. My FIRST thought should be about having B96!!! But Power 96 style would be so great, too. Who knows; Maybe if everything happens to play out precisely the right way, it could still evolve into happening.
...I have to admit that the Kaskade song really doesn't fit in too much. As excited as would be to hear it come on a rhythmic station, it really does not fit in, sound-wise, at all. I guess I've been mind trained and brainwashed over the past few years to hear things a certain way and believe things are "supposed" to sound a certain way.

I live in Northwest Indiana now, within range of Chicago FMs,, we dont have a real CHR or what I call a real Hip Hop station here... I like B-96 as a Dance POP Friendly Rhythmic CHR, I love being able to hear the station these days... And at night I have all Dance on 99.9 DANCE FACTORY,, but B-96 plays enough pop and Electro Hip Hop remixes that pure dance fits in better than on a station like power 96,, Miami is a cool market though,,, At least they have Y-100 a real CHR,, and 99.1 Jamz for real Hip Hop, and Power 96 is kinda a hispanic skewed rhythmic,, I think Power would work in Phoenix, but another additional rhythmic like B-96 probably would not... B-96 is 100 percent skewed to White Chi Town and Northern indiana and Illinois peeps, while the Blacks and hispanics have GCI and Power,,, neither GCI or Power are street or heavy enough to be a real Hip Hop station... B-96 is great to have,, as well as Dance Factory at night,, its only at night, but Ill take it..
I was under the impression B-96 does have a sizeable Hispanic listening audience, and I thought that's been the case since 1988 when 102.7 WBMX (techniclally an Urban Contemporary station) went Urban A/C. Up until then they were a straight ahead CHR/Pop station, but due to demographic changes that started to occur in the 80s, and changes in music tastes, the station decided to focus on Rhythmic/Popp or Dance/Pop instead ever since.
As for CHR/Pop, you've got 103.5 Kiss FM, which leans Rhythmic, but isn't all that different from a number of other maor market CHR/Pop outlets. B-96 seems to have stopped playing Pop/Rock titles again.

I'm going to listen to these tonight and maybe a few others and see what kind of stuff is happening on the weekends these days. Things would be so much better when I get my own laptop and have the time to listen to whatever I wish, whenever I wish, at whatever volume I please.

B-96 played Miley Cyrus THE CLIMB last sunday morning.. They were playing Matt nathenson Come on get Higher like once a day, usually between 10 AM and 2 PM... I just dont care for WKSC,,, I think it sucks both as a CHR and Rhythmic,, its not a cool Rhythmic leaning CHR like WSNX Grand Rapids... I miss WNOU in Indy, it leaned Rhythmic, but still fairly balanced....
Power 96 is sounding REALLY good right now! I'm checking in to B96 at the moment. I'm a little late on B96, but I've been stuck on Power for the last two hours or so.
I must say I love Power 96! I don't know what more to say because that pretty much sums it all up.
Over these past few days, I've been listening, and if we had a station like that here, THAT would be my favorite one, by far. They pretty much cover all the styles I like, and I say that their current format is how a rhythmic format station should be! Every time I tune in on a Friday or Saturday night, I always discover something new that I probably would've never heard or knew about if it weren't for them to play it. Much of it doesn't even register on yes dot com.
I love Power 96. I wish I lived there. Sometimes I question.. how much of a dance fan am I if I choose Power 96 over Pulse in New York or BPM on sirius? I love Pulse, but I like the Power mixshows better! -96! Power 96 wpow - just clarifying.
