Power 98.3 new mornings- who's next?

Former Phoenix dj Chino just posted on facebook a tweet from Joey Boy and La saying that Friday was their last show. Who will tack over in the mornings? And besides the ratings, why where they let go?

damm noone can keep their morning show, first Jamz and now Power. Hmmm looks like I will be popping between JJ and Rich and Elvis ;-)

Well since "Power 98.3" is in the subject line, it makes what I'm about to say fit directly in to this without me having to post an entirely new post!!!

Without even thinking of jumping to assumptions about Joey Boy and La hiking their way over to 101.5, I'll leave that up to someone else to do and  move right along to say something that's been roaming around the noggin for some time now.

In my opinion, Power 98.3 sounded its best last year, July 2009 through about February or March of this year. I genuinely miss the way it sounded during that time and wish it kept the same format / sound style  it had during that time (while modernizing the music) all throughout this year as well. I know some people may be thinking "nothing changed". Well, if this is what you're thinking, then... I don't know what to tell you because - it surely did change quite a bit and is different from how it sounded last year when it comes to overall sound and formatting. Not too fond of the increase in hip hop recurrents.

I also have to say 101.5 JamZ has changed as well, and in my opinion, I think they sound better than they did last year at this time. I really don't have much more to say on KZON. As far as KZZP, I don't think they've changed much, if at all, with exception to a few minor specialty type things like adding the Baka Boyz Allstar Hitmix, which I enjoy... But out of all, the only one(s) that has gone more towards the direction of my likes over the past months are KZON (and I guess you could add KTAR and KDKB and KPKX as well).

I surely hope KKFR can keep their morning mixshow schedule even without a morning show, the same way KZON did until they found a new morning host.
If KZON can do it, then KKFR can too! ;D

I like Power's 6am Flashback Fix Mix w/DJ Villin and their other mixes @ 7, 8 & 9am w/DJ Villin! Hope that doesn't change...JamZ did it without a morning show and kept their mixshows.

Joey and La are on contract with Power til January of 2011. So they won't be going to JamZ anytime soon or at least not until then, that's if JamZ even wants them.

I'm a year late in saying this here, but they really should be syndicating Big Boy in the morning or something similar. Their entire show fits perfectly with their format.

I'm glad someone else was awake to mention it because I sure wasn't getting out of bet this morning after going to sleep after 4:30. I did toss and turn enough times this morning to hear her though. That, along with my sister who decided to bring her noisy friend over this morning out of all mornings.
