Power 99.1 - April Fool's Joke Gone Awry?

This weekend, Walla Walla's KUJ-FM/"Power 99.1" informed listeners that their signal was being hacked by "The Radio Pirate." On Tuesday, not only did they announce that the "hacking" was a "contest" but they eventually added the pirate "as a friend". Nonetheless, FCC officials got involved.

A station in Connecticut, I believe Q-105 in New London, did the exact same thing about 20 years ago to introduce a new morning show. It wasn't funny then either.
