Oh, and if I were WiLD / ClearChannel and 97.9 did go rhythmic, I would think "Well look at this! I'm not the only one who thinks a rhythmic should be tried here" and use that as ammunition to go at it full force with 97.9 and move WiLD to a more powerful, competitive signal.

I don't think Clear Channel has a more competitive signal to swap with though - I can't see them downgrading either Project 96.1 or The Bull
I could see them downgrading Project. IMNSHO Project hasn't really delivered since they blew up 96 Rock and rolled in Buzz.

I really don't think there's evidence that Rhythmic CHR would bill higher than Project is billing right now though...and it would leave a much bigger "hole" in the market than you guys are saying there is right now (since it would leave both Project and 99X on weak signals)...that's an entire genre that would be missing from Atlanta radio, and a huge chunk of the male demographic

Also, people keep posting that 97.9 is going to be "Rhythmic", but the stunting includes Kings Of Leon, Lady Antebellum, The Script, etc. - I'm under the impression it's gonna be Rhythmic-leaning CHR, but not straight "Rhythmic" - we already have a straight Rhythmic on a weak signal, and it's really not doing that well

Jan Jeffries was saying he wanted to fill a "hole" in CHR that's not currently being serviced - so I'm assuming that's dance-leaning CHR (LMFAO, Martin Solvig, Edward Maya, etc.), rather than straight Rhythmic

Exactly, just like the Clear Channel CHR's:

96.1 Kiss
KDWB
G105

They're all solid CHR's in my opinion.

If this happens, what will Cumulus do with Q100 then? Let them go completely AC?

Jan Jeffries said there's room for Cumulus to operate two CHRs in the same market - one adult-leaning, and one youth-leaning

Q100 is the second highest rated station in ATL right now - trust me, they're not gonna mess with it

This stunting must be the same for all Cumulus stations when they are about to flip formats. As it sounds the same for when Cumulus flipped formats in Myrtle Beach.

Currently being played is classic country and in between songs someone is saying storm.

Wh.. wha.. ah what happened here? Did everyone fall asleep? Eh.... you guys don't deserve a new radio station. How could you sleep at such an exciting time like this?!?

Hmmm, wonder if Cumulus will take a stab at V103???

Seriously? We should stay up all night speculating on the new format?

Hey boss sorry I am late but I had to stay up all night listening to some weak ass translator stunt in order for Atlanta to deserve some cheesy Hot A/C station that on its best day will pull a 0.7 share.

YES!

(Boss says) That Dj KDM is a fool! What he failed to tell you is that right after he posted that, he went to sleep himself... and he expected you to stay up? I'm speculating on the level of his insanity, that guy. By the way, I'm docking your pay...

There's some local content, like the Braves winning the World Series, Hank Aaron hitting 715, imaging from Power 99, 99X, and WQXI, Atlanta/Georgia related songs (ATL Lady by Marty Balin, Doraville by ARS, Georgia On My Mind, etc.). But that would be easy enough to dub into a generic stunt.

Internet stream went dead at 11:33. Could be the new format :D.

"All dead air ... all the time..." I guess I'll have to go upstairs and turn on the radio - see if I can pick up the signal.

I've never seen this much excitement over a format flip in this market - and we're talking LOW POWER here. This is great. ;)

Yep, same format as in Cincinnati it looks like... reminds me of WRVE in Albany, New York too (AC/gold-leaning Hot AC) :)

I like it, like jingles, reminds me of the good old days of radio.

Yes. I can pick it up - in Dahlonega! (Reminds me when I first moved to ATL on the north side, and I would do anything to pick up WAKE/1340. :D)

Now, dat's a looooong time agoooo........ ;)

My guess is AC (maybe hot AC, but not as hot as Star), classic pop hits more like Jack than River and aimed at B98.5 and filling the gap between AGH and Q100, or maybe old skool R&B.

Couldn't they actually increase power to the north as to not bother WIBB Macon???

OR, is this entire thing ONE HUGE MEGA SWITCH UP DECOY, consisting of two smaller double decoys, which.. in the end, will result in there really being the AC station that everyone first thought it was going to be before they were decoyed into believing something else?

Man what a good radio psychic I must be!!

AND I wonder if this is the exact same format I once suggested some time ago for a different type of AC sound? I'm not sure since I haven't actually heard or seen what they play yet, but I bet it will evolve to become exactly that within a matter of months.
