Power Brokers In Atlanta Radio

Power Brokers In Atlanta Radio

In your opinion, who be the top 5 Atlanta radio power brokers and why?

Let the people be heard!

This may be off base

but what about the radio agent Norm Schrutt?
He manages one of the most successful talents in town, Ryan Cameron. He has managed the Two Live Stews from evenings to daytime to afternoon drive. Now they also have gotten an ESPN2 TV show. He manages the top talent at 680 The Fan, John Kincade who also has gotten the national job with ESPN Radio. I don't know his entire Atlanta client list, but he supposedly has other talents on the FM side too. At least behind the scenes, it seems as if all of his clients see their paychecks, exposure and talents grow beyond the city of Atlanta!

Not off base

Not off base at all in my opinion.

More of a reserved and hidden name but one that wields some power no question.

Re: Not off base

Norm, who used to run Kicks and Eagle, also reps Fred Toucher, Christopher Rude and Mara Davis locally and about 20 folks nationally. He used to work with Moby. He also had his own bobblehead doll made. It's bobbing on top of my computer right now.

Re: Not off base

Norm is also the guy credited with forcing Larry Lujack out from WLS in the mid-1980's. The station then tumbled so far down the ratings that it took a flip to conservative talk in the early 90's to finally have the Big 89 back in the top 10 in Chicago.

As for power brokers: Me, Rodney Ho, Me, CurtisinPA and Christopher Colandro and his leaking puss.

Re: Not off base

WLS went news/talk fulltime in 1989..and it wasn't "conservative talk" (there really wasn't such a format then). The lineup included Don Wade and his wife Roma (Don/conservative, Roma/liberal, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Lassiter (from WFLA, Tampa, who took many liberal and libertarian positions), and syndicated hosts Tom Snyder (mostly liberal)and Sally Jesse Rafael. Stacy Taylor (male), joined later, though he was a libertarian at 'LS, he's now the morning host at San Diego's liberal talker.
