POWER GETS A FLOAT IN ATLANTA PRIDE PARADE.......

According to their website, POWER will be in the parade and Elvis Duran is due to make an appearance as well. So, I guess this is their first big on the street promotion. Maybe a tent at Piedmont Park? Pretty descent exposure, right? Wonder if it'll be a full-on live remote with jocks on air by then.

Thoughts?

So I guess WiLD is no longer the Official Pride Parade sponsor station anymore. Looks like Power may eventually follow the more pop leaning rhythmic sound WiLD had before they went strictly rhythmic. This is also why I say they should move the electronic show from WiLD to Power, although it does fit WiLD as well since rhythmic Power 106 in LA is much more urban leaning but has the longest running afterhours electronic dance show in the country. Maybe both WiLD and Power could adopt an electronic dance show. Power can pick up where Q left off a few years back with their afterhours dance show. Hopefully Power also has weekday mixshows... and how many ClearChannel stations use the name "Power?"

People really underestimate the size of the Gay Community in the city of Atlanta. Had a friend down from San Francisco last year and attends the pride gathering throughout the country and said Atlanta had one of the largest in the nation and easily one of the top 5. I'm sure there are exceptions (I being one) but generally, the gay community overwhelmingly listen to Top 40, especially the more dance oriented.

Actually, the parade is pretty much kid friendly. My church is on Peachtree and we are the first stop on the parade route. We have lots of kids from the parish watching the parade and collecting beads. We provide a water station for the parade participants and some of the kids help hand out water too.

Brent, I don't think the Roman Catholics would have a water station for the "Gay and Lesbian" Pride Parade. I go to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

I wonder how Power got in the parade at the last minute? The deadline for entry passed a couple months ago.

They would at The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, mostly gay Catholic church, all the priests are out.
