The Arizona Republic reporting yesterday that:
A power outage knocked 3TV and CW61 off the airwaves for more than four hours Saturday.
Assignment editor Tim Stewart said the power went out about 4 p.m., and the studio's backup generator was not working. APS workers had restored power to the station in the 5500 block of West Seventh Avenue by 5 p.m., but programming did not return to the airwaves until shortly after 8.
Mark Fallon, an APS spokesman, said a fault in an underground power line caused the initial outage.
