Anyone know which stations were off or remained on-air during the power failures?
I know 1070 WKMB was off the air at least through Tuesday. I haven't checked since then.Cosmopolite said:Anyone know which stations were off or remained on-air during the power failures?

Truth Be Told... If I were them I'd make sure I noted this last week in my public file since it's the BEST Public Service (silence) they've offered on that frequency in the days since country done left town! :-*
Maybe they scored brownie-points with the FCC now so they can break more regulations on a daily basis as they solicit donations ON-AIR for well-needed transmitter upgrades to seek compliance... Talk about a waste of a solid stick! Maybe they should have swapped calls with Sunbury PA's WKOK... seems more fitting... :

From what I hear they lost yet another GM there (who was actually trying to improve the place) due to Kirkwood bouncing quite a few of his paychecks. (It's like a broken record there, same thing over and over and over.....) They are STILL off the air as of today Tuesday Nov 8th. (They probably didn't pay the electric bill or the tower rent (that has happened MANY times over the past few years)). Radio411, I agree with you, that silence on that frequency better serves the community of license, then the constant begging for money that probably just goes into owners pockets rather than to fix the place up.
WKMB is still off the air, two weeks after the storm. Isn't there a certain length of time after which they'll have to report to the FCC that they're silent? One month, perhaps?jerseygirl1 said:I heard the reason they have been off the air for for over a week is because their transmitter got fried from the storm on Oct. 29th. Rev. Kirkwood better start hoping for pennies from heaven to start falling for a new Transmitter. In this case "Silence is Golden"
